Pellet Trap & Ballistic Curtain

(1/2) > >>

Artie:
I ordered a .22 bullet trap (branded: Highwild) and it arrived incomplete, the back plate was missing. I contacted the seller and a replacement trap is on the way. So what to do with the incomplete one they don't want returned? I'm thinking of fashioning some sort of ballastic curtain backer of sorts and using it as well.
I am currently looking at 1680D ballistic nylon fabric and or Kevlar cloth on Ebay. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BanjomanMI76:
Get some plywood and face it with an electrical enclosure back plate and stick some Duct Seal on it.

That would work.

I have hung a 3/4 inch piece of Rubber matt, the kind they use in gyms and horse stalls in front of my 1/2" aluminium plate. ;)

Struckat:
Careful what you shoot in there, they tend to spit back.

Roadworthy:
You've got options depending on your goals.  The back (or where the back would be) appears to be angled like my Champion rimfire trap.  You could measure the dimensions and purchase a piece of steel plate an eighth or 3/16" thick, weld it in place and have two complete ones.  A local metal fab shop should sell you a piece relatively inexpensively.
