I don’t think free-floating a 7/16” barrel is a big deal though.

I have a PROD with a 20” LW MROD barrel (half- shrouded) that hangs just fine and is not palpably flimsy.

Thinking of having my spare one modified/machined in the pellet ingress area to fit a 13xx/22xx breech, but my AG fanaticism has truly waned lately, so all AG-related stuff are mere thoughts for now 

Anyway , a LW barrel is really worth investing in. Oh, and the least accurate of the six I own is the 10” 2300 one, but I have to truly test that one yet ‘cuz my 1701P one of the same length “almost” competes with my twin 14.6” ones at 25 yards, my limited backyard range

 Freefloating sound interesting., i did a few things to free up the barrel but nothing like freefloating. Excellentwork Rick67.

Today i took C362#430 and tried a few shots with the grub screw backed out until disengaged. Next i chopped .5" off the barrel, cleaned up and recrowned, now at 19.5". Reset the grub screw to lightly contact the barrel < # 263 has Grub screw in lightly pressing on the barrel , and does good . Next i removed 4 of the front BRMounts leaving 2 against the barrelband < i might remove the two BRmounts infront of the barrelband, ill see.  Then i took a plain SwissArms4x40mm and got that mounted.
  Got setup with not so great GHI 15.4gr for 4 pumps and 15 yards. Next a few shots at 27 yards with 8 pumps. I shot at the 27 yard backstop, hit around 2" high. Got it to hit near the same hole after a few shots and adjustments. Ran out of shooting time to get it on the 3" targets at 27yards but so far looks good. I need to refine sight in with HNB18s or HNB21s on a good no to low wind day.
 If i continue to have accuracy issues with this 19.5x22 barrel, i might just switch to the 18"x.22 barrel that i know is accurate.

I cant speak to the 1701…but before I went with a steel breech,I used a custom shop brake and thought it looked good and worked as it should…good luck

Ive thought of going back to it and using a peep  on the SB….Im no longer concerned about disturbing the neighbors…lol…and I’m covered up in all manner of LDC…

 I have been working a bit on my 362 today.  Installed a Baker brass trigger, and Mellon flow through bolt in the Baker aluminum breech.   8 pumps average 689fps with 14.3g Crosman hollow points and at 5 pumps, where I like to target shoot it was 585fps. Above 8 pumps though it retains some air so I will eliminate that later.   Tell the truth I don't plan to do over 8 anyway. After cleaning the barrel with Goo Gone, polishing the crown and shooting a bunch of cleaning pellets coated with Brownell's J-B Non-Embedding Bore Paste, I cannot complain about the accuracy.  Shot 10 shots 5 pumps each with open sights over a bag, pictured here across the driveway, at about 30 feet from my work bench.  Most were in the same hole.  No way I could have done it with the original sight as I need it out there on the barrel.  I will need to find a scope for long-range shooting next.  I have been saving a Winchester stock blank that has a quilted figure for some project.  If I can figure out a solution to replace the odd front end barrel band I may use it here. I need a little more length of pull.  I also have one walnut blank I've been saving too. Either stock would need slimming up a bit to match that narrow original one.  Bought the gun at Meijer Store sale $99.99

 Hey good shooting there and your getting good velocity and power at 8 pumps. Your wood stock looks very nice. Excellent Work.
 Yesterday I found RSD 14.5gr does very good in #430. This makes me think the RMK 14.0gr and RWS Super Point 14.5gr and possibly HNEP 13.0gr would do good. It is abit windy out today so I don't want to shoot Paper, I'll wait for a less wind day to check accuracy on Paper..

Nukall,   I have only tried Crosman 14.3g hollow points and 14.3g Piranhas. Both shot about the same accuracy but the Piranhas average 675fps instead of the 689fps of the hollow points at 8 pumps.  Not a big difference but I thought they would be closer. The hollow points hit 701fps a few times at first.  I have a bunch of others to try yet.  Just shooting these now at closer range to break in the gun and set sights. I will list a few more results when I try more brands.

 The difference in velocity between the two pellets types is due to different fit in the barrel. The CPP have a wider head and fit good where CPHP fit would be light. Man you got some good numbers at 8 pumps. What kind of rear sight do you have in the pic of your C362? Looks nice.
 When I feel better I'll be gathering more Chronograph numbers using pellets I haven't tested yet.

  Nukall,  I have several click adjustable rear sights I find a gun shows. I use a Disco sight sleeve or a piece of 7/16" ID metal tube drilled and tapped to mount them out on the barrel.  I just need them out there to focus my progressive lens eyeglasses. I just do not do well with peep sights. The 362 has one that is some kind of import but really works great.  The best ones I find are Thompson Center brand which is on the bottom gun.  Here is a picture of both kinds.  I just tried one of my favorite old Beeman pellets as I'm working late in the shop, the Silver Bears 12.65gr. It shoots 735fps over the Crony at 8 pumps and is a hard hitter that I have taken a lot of small game over the years with.  I don't think they make it anymore. it was made by H&N for Beeman and I still have a couple of tins.   When I think about it now, the times it hit 701fps with Crosman hollow points I had a Disco bolt in the breech.  I now have a flow through bolt in it as it really loads smoother with the big round tip. Depends on the gun I guess as flow throughs have gained velocity on other guns.

 To rephrase in correction of myself if I had made it a bit unclear as now. The CPirhanas may be a snug fit in your barrel causing the lower FPS and higher FPS Spread than the CPHP which sounds as though they fit better in your barrel.
 I really like that you have used the disco sleeves and the click adjustable rear sights, very cool..
 I have seen those 12.6 Beeman's, somewhere online... Quite some time ago though.
 #430 has a lot of shots through as it is the one that gave me some trouble in the beginning with accuracy. I very much like the two C362s ik heb.

Nukall,   You are right about the Pirhanas the head is slightly larger and has a wider ring around it compared to the hollow points although they are the same weight. Here are a few guns with the way I like to do open sights.  These are Lego type guns built from parts as are most of my collection.  A Disco tube gun at top, a pumper built from a 2200 tube with Williams WGRS-54 rimfire sight in the center and a 2260 tube with a custom power valve CO2 gun at the bottom.  I like walnut wood best, and these were built from surplus shaped stock blanks that I inlet for the actions.  They are getting harder to find in that form and I only have two left unused.  I like the 362 a lot and may use one for it.

 I cut and modified the barrel band to fit a BRLDC for 1377 on the end of the 18" barrel.
Plastic Weld the LDC+sight onto the pump tube cap. It is a little canted to the right which bothers me. I'll reset the BRLDC to be level at a later time for now I want the Chrono numbers.
 Apolo Domed Heavy have done good.. while on a 1377 this 18" .177 barrel had the best performance in accuracy and power using SigSauer Dome 10.0gr. I'll check how these perform in this C367x18". A lot of light pellets do very good in this barrel as well.
