Fwiw, not sure if it has any bearing here, the original falling blocks used an ever so slight angle/wedge to the block. It was to help the block not drag the case as bad when dropping the block.
Also, the Leshiy uses a short stroke hammer with leverage. I think that approach will work perfect here as well.
Excited to see how this progresses.

Thanks Dave-hadn't thought of a taper-that's a perfect solution to the block sealing issue!

I love all of the DIY airguns that pop up on here.

Something to this effect?.... Or, do you just mean that the c0cking linkage has mechanical advantage (the whole buttstock)?...

JuryRigger:
Started plotting the cam link; will need to cut a very small clearance notch for the stem in the breechblock-it will be split to fit around the stem; and also the trigger/sear links... Gave 3/16" of takeup before the c0cking link engages the hammer; which is hopefully enough to keep the hammer from bottoming out on the c0cking shoe...

sb327:
Just that the buttstock provides a very large mechanical advantage for a relatively short stroke with a heavy spring. Very quick lock time is afforded with this setup.
