Field Target Matches in the St Louis Area

I'm curious if anyone would be interested in this sort of thing?

I'm returning to airguns after having been away for 15+ years.  I've always been interested in FT style shooting.  Looks like the closest place for me to do it would be up in Wisconsin with the Badgerland club.  I plan to visit them this season but it would be really cool to have a more local group that's interested too. 

I'm willing to do some work in terms of finding a place to hold matches, etc but I would be far more motivated if I knew there were perhaps 4 or 5 other people in the area that would show up for that first match, if I could pull it together.

About the Only place I know of, where you can Always count on folks showing up (in great numbers, at that!) for an airgun shoot of any kind, but especially for FT/FTT, is in.... "Wait for it"... Jolly old England, and the UK in general.   SADLY!!   

Personally, we would love to join you.. but we're (my wife & I) on the far opposite end of MO... coupled with the ever increasing cost of fuel, motels, etc...... well... : (    I've tried putting several shoots together, here at our place... and had literally Dozens respond and say things like... "just let me know when & where, and I'll be there"!!   By the week of it happening... we were down to 5 or 6 who "were coming for sure"..... bought extra food (steaks to grill, etc) for them.... Saturday arrives.... and NObody, shows up.   

After several attempts and spending extra money for food for folks who don't even have the courtesy to call (gave them all my ph. no.) and at least let us know they can't make it...... I'm Done with it, as far as trying to host a shoot. 

Sadly for us, as far as anyone to shoot AG's with.... we may as well be on a deserted island somewhere.  There is a really "together" group down in AR., but they don't get together until 5 or 6pm in the evenings (Wed.), and it's a solid 2.5+hrs drive from us... each way, only to spend 2 hrs at the indoor range (10 meter shoots).. not hardly worth the driving time for us, and being really late at night by the time we get back.... plus, they have to wear masks, while there.. which are as useful in protecting yourself from a "virus" (you can't Patent a real, naturally occurring virus),  as trying to protect yourself from mosquito's with a chain link fence.  lol   

I got back into the AG's after not even owning one for nearly 50 years, back in 2013... I now own 47 ag's including a few pistols... and going to try and sell most of them, off.   Literally None of them have more than 500 rounds through them, and Most of them have less than 250.   All of them are UTG/Leapers scoped and in really nice, high quality soft/padded  cases with pockets.. each costing upwards of 45. - $60. (the cases).    Anyway.... it's sad Not to be able find (or, count on) folks (men & women) to enjoy a shoot together with. 

For me, it's all about the camaraderie and common interest in the sport.. but, it is, what it is these days.   I wish you all the best, out your way and hope you have great luck and success with finding folks to enjoy the sport with.
