Women and Knives. Or does.......

(1/2) > >>

a1Bogey:
anyone else have this situation?   My wife has no appreciation for a well cared for sharp knife. None at all.   I know there is trouble whan she comes out of the kitchen asking, " where is that knife thay you have that is really sharp".   And can I use it to chop up concrete blocks?  My usuall reply is something along that the knife in question was taken by gremilns or something like gremlins.   I take care of my knives and keep them sharp, very sharp.  So sharp that when you breathe on the blade you can hear the molecules scream in pain as they are sliced in half.   On the other hand, my wife has faithfully ignored every suggestion that I have ever made to her on how to care for a knife.   Every suggestion is treated as if it came in some foreign tongue.  So, I have learned to only keep the knives she uses fairly sharp not real sharp.  Just able to get through the skin of a tomatoe.   She seems to have gotten her knife techniques from watching the commercials on T.V.   " Why can't I use this knife to chop through a 1/2  bolt?" "They do it on T.V !"   Tossed in drawers, dishwashers.  Thrown in sinks with the dishes, its all the same to her.

I have to keep my knives put up and away from her.   Worse than hidding things from a child.  And of course she gets mad when I don't present them for abuse when she demands one .

Jay:
I understand totally Bogey. I carry alot of very sharp object's on my person at all time's so finally the better half demaned a good blade for carry,of course I did get her one(I do like too eat). But to make the story short 5 sliced an diced finger's later she has finally learned to respect the blade :o??? An fortunately she would never dream of asking for one of my knife's for kitchen use,not that she has not tried, she just know's what the answer is,well that an I've "Thank Heaven's" gone alittle deaf from all my shooting over the year's!!! WHAT BABE CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE T.V. (give it a try, they give up after a while 8)).

RedFeather:
Be thankful for a wife like that.  Lorena Bobbitt liked sharp knives.   ;D

snookman:
My wife has such horrible knife skills that we have two sets of knives in the kitchen.

She gets MAD at me for sharpening her knifes, because it is my fault that the sharp knife cuts her. Go figure.

Fortunately, I do most of the prep work and cooking.

She won't go near my Henckel Knives because they are always SHARP.
