Amen! I'd leave tomorrow if I didn't have such deep roots here.   ...My house being worth 130k less than it did a few years ago doesn't help either!

Hey guys, a new airgunner from new jersey. (unfortunately i guess). From what I've seen my $40 dollar daisy I had given to me needs to have permits, like that's ever going to happen. But my 1968 Winchester 1200 Hunter is fine, because that is a family heirloom, no permits required until I take it off property. Being in one of the most densely populated states in America air rifles make the MOST sense here. Most game I take is in the woods behind my house, within close range. Airguns are quiet, and don't disturb my neighbors. They also loose their effectiveness at long range, and are a completely humane way of taking game. (Even the 7ft-lb daisy can put one through that squirrel's thick skull.)   Important note, It is perfectly legal to purchase an air rifle out of state, and bring it back. You will have to get permits for it, and you can't legally hunt with it. Looks like I'm moving elsewhere after college...

Although it is definitely annoying and a hassle for them to be classed as firearms, firearms are not illegal in New Jersey. It is illegal to possess or carry them without permit. Airguns can be owned and used in Jersey, you have to be permitted and registered much as you would with a firearm though.

This is precisely why my second home is just south of the Mohawk Valley  of New York.  New Yorks gun laws are nothing to brag about but compared to  New  Jerkey its like being in Montana.  And it's just 4 hours away.
