Atempt 100 with HW97k .177
broachoski:
My HW97k is 2 weeks old today but I have been giving it a workout. I have 50 and 100 yard ranges from my rimfire days and really like shooting pellets at those distances. Saturday I set up paper targets at 100. My rifle is zero'd at 50 and did not want to adjust the turrets for 100 (though today I did) so I used the mil-dots to compensate.
I was using JSB 10.34's which averaged 700 fps the last time I checked.
I have an UTG 4x16-44 swat scope mounted via a DN460 rail with 17.1" compensation which is too much for this rifle so I added about .012 shim under the front ring. Without the shim I had very little windage adjustment when set at 50 yards. I regress.
Below are 2 pics which I felt good enough to share. The first one has a 2.9 inch group but not where I wanted them. On the second one I managed to get 4 out of 5 within the 9 ring but the 5th took a dive. I was so excited when I approached the target and it took me a while to find the 5th one down at the bottom.
This is a strong passion for me at the moment and I will be back.
I want to thank you guys for if it wasn't for you, I would not be having this fun.
