My first Air Rifle Mod

Might not be a very big thing to most of you but my first air rifle mod and thought I'd show it off. The rifle is a Hatsan Edge Vortex .25 and when I was taking it apart to get some pics of the trigger, found that the front stock screws had lock washers which were starting to tear up the composite stock. After some searching, I found some bronze flange bushings on Amazon, 3/16 ID x 5/16 OD, 7/17 long. I needed a slightly bigger inside diameter, so they were very carefully drilled using a 13/64 drill bit at which point the stock screws slid nicely through without any play in them.
The screw holes in the stock were then drilled out to fit the new bushings into, marked on the inside for length and again, very carefully ground down on a bench grinder to come just to the inside edge of the stock. The original stock screws didn't need to be changed, so after a test fit were re-installed with some blue loctite. The rear stock screw goes through a nice solid block and didn't need to be touched.
Now hopefully, those bushings protect my composite stock and strengthen things up, plus keep the front of the rifle from bouncing when I fire and those screws move around in what were starting to be loose holes.
I included a couple pics plus my Hatsan Edge in Harvest Moon Camo stock...and nope, the Vortex version doesn't come in that stock option....lol

Nice work Steve! Looks "cleaner" than my washer/epoxy fix. May have to do that, the brass outline would look cooler than my silvery stainless washers.

Just be careful and take your time drilling the bronze bushings and then again grinding off the excess...thankfully there were 3 in the pack, I split the first one....lol...although you could just paint the washers?

Steve,
Guy has a very complex and expensive machine that's broke down - gotta be fixed pronto, so calls a repairman.
Repairman walks around machine a few times then gives it a good swift kick and it starts working. Hands Guy a bill for $50. Guy says you can't charge me $50 for that - I want an itemized bill!
Repairman hands it back, $1 kicking machine, $49 knowing WHERE to kick machine.
-------
NICE way to go about resolving the issue Steve, creative, classy, just plain nice
Welcome to the GTA, glad to have you aboard!!!

My thanks to you sir for the Welcome Aboard!! I have another Edge to do that same mod to, just have to get more of the bronze flange bushings. Amazon only had the one package so I got what they had to try my idea and between that and a trigger fix, the rifle shoots much better.
Nothing like my 95 Vortex, but that has SAS and the Quattro....although from all I've read and heard, the Rekord and T06 are even better....someday maybe.....
