I thought it might be convenient if I listed all the designs I have published so far in one place, with the source, design twist, and mold number.... First, from Accurate Molds....

These designs will be stable at airgun velocities in the twist specified.... Some have been tried in slower twists and worked, so the number may be conservative, but that is unproven for most of the designs above.... If you use the recommended twist, or a faster one, you should have no problem.... My design weights are with pure lead or 1% tin, Accurate's weight are with wheel weights, that is why some are different.... Note that these designs are in the public domain, and are free for individual use.... I receive no compensation from Accurate Molds, and have no business relationship with them....

thanks bob, love the 109gr .357,my 201 fire love,s them and puts out 220fpe with them,,the evanix rainstorm 2 is very accurate with them, but guns lacks the power to support the full accuracy and impact this bullet offers,bob you got any designs in 45 .457 .458 in the high 300 and low 400 gr,s,looking for a good bullet for the Texan.i like the accurate mold,s there great quality,

Tell me the approximate weight you want and I can draw one up and send it to Tom.... A 2.0 cal long will be ~~320-350~~ 385 gr., I was already thinking of drawing one of those up.... What Meplat would you prefer, 60%, 70%, or 75%.... To give you an idea of what they look like, the .357 and smaller are a 60%, the .408 is 70%, and the 286 gr., .458 above is 75%.... and it is 1.5 cal. long.... High 300s - low 400s sounds heavy for a 500 FPE gun, IMO.... the 286 gr. should work great....

bob a 60% meplat,385 gr .457 and a 425 gr, at 75% meplat .457. sound about right, but as always i am open for suggestions,and recommendations, thanks

I decided to draw up a longer version of the .458 cal 286 gr.... 2.0 calibers long instead of 1.5 calibers.... It worked out to 385 gr....

I will be submitting this to Tom at Accurate to add to his catalogue.... Note; it will take 4000+ psi and a long barrel (or Helium) to drive a .45 cal. bullet this heavy into the mid 900s....

Nope, by the time you have a nose and a boattail, there would be no bearing area left to keep the bullet straight in the bore.... Veral didn't even want to do the 52 gr. originally, it took quite a bit of convincing.... any bullet that light will have to be a flat base.... I suggest you contact Mike (CarsonRatSniper) for his slugs (31-45 gr.)....

Im gonna buy that 95 gr 308 mold. I have a new toy that could use that weight instead of the 118 grs it uses now. That should speed things up a bit

Bob. Love the looks of those boattails. I was thinking of ordering an Accurate mold for my Extreme .408 with one cavity 200 gr and the other at 252 gr. I noticed that the 200 is designed for a 1:32 twist and the 252 for a 1:26. I am thinking that my Extreme is 1:32. Does that mean the accuracy will suffer with your 252 gr bullet?

I would ask about the twist rate, I would be really surprised if it is a 32" twist.... the slowest I have seen in the TJ's list is a 24".... If it is 32", there is a possibility that the 252 gr. may tumble with that slow a twist.... or it may be just fine.... Rizen 1 has a .408 Extreme and he asked me to design that bullet for him.... he may know the twist rate....

Hello Bob...we have customers shooting 275 solids and no problem with bullets tumbling, and yes custom mandrel 1/32 twist...kind regards, Allen

Boattails tend to need a faster twist, so the 252 gr. BBT may or may not work in the 32".... just have to try it and see.... I think Mike (Rizen 1) has ordered one, so we'll know soon enough....
