Having fun and learning is what it's all about. I went through a similar exercise with my son's 880. Got it to the point it would just barely shoot 3/4" groups at 25yds. You might want to search for my thread on accurizing the Daisy 880.Again, it was a good learning experience but I wasn't satisfied with it as being adequate for squirrel hunting at 25 - 35 yds so he graduated to a QB79 with a Ninja tank.
Bringing back memories of me and my 760 20th aniversary addition when I was a kid and the chipmunks that fell to that gun .BZ
truth be told I prefer my 760 over this Daisy. The 760 is just as accurate as I have made the 880, maybe even more so, and I did nothing to it but experiment with pellets. At 25 yards I can hit the hickory nut off of the can nearly every time with the 760. When I miss it is me, not that gun. But I am getting more and more pleased with the 880. playing with these cheap pumpers is a lot of fun
i wonder why daisy doesn't put a barrel support in the 880 like the 901? my 901 has a support bushing the 880 should too.
The 25th anniversary edition (1991) 760's had rifled barrels. You can spot em easy because they had real wood stocks. They turn up every now and then and not very expensive Crosman may sell you a rifled barrel, just call and ask for this part number: 761-024

I bought a 760 and an 880 at the same time, and LOVED the 880 right away. The 760 on the other hand was a scatter gun. 3" groups at 10 yards, regardless of pellets or BB's. I tried optics and got the same results. It was harder to pump than the 880, and had no redeeming qualities that I could find. I may have to try another one some day, but as of now, that experience has me scared of the 760 platform altogether (including the MK-177 and the M4-177).
The 760 and all Crosmans I have tried pump harder than any Daisy I have tried.
