P-rod air gauge

I had to replace my leaking P-rod gauge and ordered one from Crosman. Looks like they have changed gauges. Here's the new one

I had to replace mine just recientely. came in , looked just like yours.
Only thing is , it doesnt read 3000 psi or maybe I'm reading it wrong
the OEM has four hash marks inbetween the 1000's mark, which I read, 2,4,6,8,1000.
the new one only has eight hash marks and if you read each one as 1 than there is only 800 inbetween the 1000's mark.
SO am I reading this wrong or what.
I contacted crosman this AM , sent a pic of the two and asked if there was something wrong or am I reading it wrong.
compare the two gauges, left OEM, right replacement

New gauge is fractional 1/2, 1/4s and 1/8s. So it would read 2,000, 2,125,  2,250, 2,375, 2,500, 2,625, 2,750, 2,895, 3,000

Maybe so, but do you know anyone who fills their guns on a fractional fill , like this gauge would be.
someone on another site figured that each hash is 125 psi.
 I tuned my gun to 2700 psi so its just a little harder to Put  it there. plus its just harder to read.
I could have put a paint ball 3000psi gauge but those numbers were even smaller.

I sent my 1701P back too. They replaced the Crosman gauge with a different vendor's product.
Could be they are paying attention for a change!

I fill mostly with a scuba tank and its not regulated. so what ever the tank has in it , it goes into the gun. with out that gauge as a guide or reference the gun could get over filled. my tank usually fills from around 3200 psi until I get a few fills and the pressure drops and only then can I fill with out worring about how much is going into the gun.
Now when I fill with my pump, thats different, its a more controled fill.
I wonder what it would be if my tank was a 4500 psi without a regulated fill gauge  .
I dont like gauges either, but they do serve their purpose.

Yep, that's what I don't like.  Working with 200 psi increments was so hard!

well if you think about it, who fills to a 25, 50 or a 75 , I think most fill to 100.
those 200 hash marks, its easier to go 100 by setting the neddle inbetween those hash marks.
