Purchased a remington express yesterday and I am impressed. Pulled the gun from the box and mounted a 3-9x40 bsa and shot it bone stock. Gun deiseled for about 10 shots and started grouping 1 ragged hole at 25yds and 50yds I managed to have some shots touching. Gun looks like an r9 clone or b26. Trigger is a rekord copy I didnt think so at first but after comparing it to my other rekords it is a copy just a little crude. Knowing this gun will shoot I decided to tune her. I always shoot a gun straight from the box cause if its got a junk barrel you might as well return it cause a tune is not gonna fix that and a barrel swap is not easy or cheap. Pulling the gun apart was easy theres not much preload on this one. Gun was full of oil and the seal got damaged pulling the piston out this will set me back a few days. I worked on the trigger first a little filing and polishing now it feels like a rekord, they had three lock washers under the sear adjustment screw up front preventing any adjustment. Removed the washers and found the screw wasnt long enough so i replaced it with a longer one ( not advised unless you know what your doing you can make the gun unsafe). Trigger blade needed some filing of the second stage contact area. I checked the bore the seal is a 28mm not a 26mm like a b26. This gun seemas to be a cross maybe between a b26 and b28. The seal is like rws or gamo I found a replacement with vortek. Barrel lockup is a ball detent and takes a good smack to open it. Polished the piston and beveled the rear edge it was sharp. New spring guide mad and a small tophat that Had to have a recessed shoulder on the bottom to fit over a a shoulder down in the piston. Piston liner was blued so I polished it up. Deburred the reciever. Polished the spring ends. Sorry I dont have a pick of the gun assembled. this gun shoots out of the box and those of you on a budget this ones in my opinion is hard to beat. If you can do some work to tune it and dress the trigger up youll have yourself an r9 on a budget. Ill update when I get her back together with the new seal with some chrony numbers. The pull weight adjustent screw is not stock I had an extra rekord screw and put it in for a little dressing.

What's the cocking effort like? The R9 is rated at 40lbs.--well, that's what I'm reading on line anyway.

I'm still looking for a shooting range springer, but I'd like something with a bit more power than the 500-600 fps. guns.

need a piston seal?? have factory type....it will smooth out really nice, increase angle on back of trigger blade, in the blade there is a channel for an adjustment screw they didn't put in, ne to drill and tap, will help for adjusting pull...

I noticed the channel wasnt sure what it was for. I ordered a seal already thankyou though. Do you carry parts for these.

Trigger pics. The pics make it look ruff but the contact area are smooth. I installed the screw mike mentioned and it does allow adjustment of the second stage.

I dont know if ill be keeping this gun I love my weihrauchs. I bought this gun to see how close a clone can be to the real thing. Ill tell you this im very impressed so far. Hopefully monday the seal gets here and I can have up and shooting.

Thanks for posting the link for the trigger blog page. What size is that screw? I ordered one from Midway. I *want* a German AG, but I can enjoy the Asian stuff as long as the accuracy is there.

The screw I used was m5x.8 and was a stop pin from a leapers scope mount. The trigger is hollow and need to be put in a vise to tap correctly. Like mike stated the channel is already there for the screw but will need the hole drilled out in the trigger.

This one straight from the box after firng a few shots to stop deiseling is shooting around 930s with 7.9 crosman premiers.

The accuracy from my intial test shooting seems very good if not just as good. I own a couple of these german beauties so I am able to compare.

Interesting how the receiver has slots perpendicular to the dovetail rails. I've got some Air Arms 10.3's. Would those be too heavy for this gun?

I dont have any heavies on hand but I believe the gun is more suited for heavies. Im gonna order some barracuda match and try them.
