TX200...for a 40mm scope what size mount do I need?

Hi....I am thinking of buying a Hawke 3-9x40 scope and was wondering what size mounts should I be looking for. That is in height?  Will medium height ones do?

 Mediums will be fine. You don't need to consider high mounts until you go beyond 44mm.

I agree med are fine. MAY even fit with low. But high is not needed.

If trying lo rings be sure mags clear if you have a mag and also remember to have room for fingers if SS.

Stick with the medium.  If you put on a Weaver rail base then low will work.  I would suggest a one piece mount rather than two rings.

I have a centerpoint 4-16x40 on mine and I use the Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Mount w/1" Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail mount.  I know a lot of people prefer higher quality mounts and optics, but I'm happy with this set up.  After several thousand shots, I have not had to retighten or adjust the mount, and never needed lock tite on it.  The mount gives plenty of clearance for the AO to rotate - about 3/16" between the bottom of the lens cap and top of the rifle.  I had two piece low mounts, but the turning objective would have scratched the rifle with those and the lens cap wouldn't fit.

Depends on shooting you intend to do.  Offhand use high 2 piece rings with stop pin.  Keeps your head upright.  For field target the med. are fine.  I like a 2 piece as that allows for more adjustment for eye relief.

Wait a minute I thought you Air Arms guys pride yourselves on being able to set a pellet on your scope turret and not have the pellet move when the gun is shot.

I subscribe to the belt and suspenders school of design better to use and not need than to need and not have . It is never a bad idea to err on the side of caution or to use the best available if it is within the budget and besides the double straps look cool
