the age old debate of pellet weight. heavier pellets cause more strain on parts to get them moving. more strain equals shorter life. in a 34 id stay around 14-16gr. anything heavier could reduce the efficiency of the gun. can it move a heavy pellet? sure but if it only go's 25 yards what the point of shooting heavy lead. if you have a chrony shoot a variety of pellets over it and see which give your the best fpe at the muzzle and at the target with the best accuracy. then use the best of those 3 factors.
I have also read that you really wont damage the rifle if you dry fire them either. Now probably not something to get in the habbit of doing, but have read a post that was talking about that as well.Shoot what your rifle likes. Because after a while every rifle will need to be worked on or tweeked.
I remember that Greg......and recall there was one particular member that blew an artery over it and went off on a very schizophrenic rant. {snip}
I would say your getting some bum advice. Shoot to light a pellet or keep dry firing a springer and you will be buy replacement parts or guns over and over...Quote from: woogie_man on October 18, 2013, 04:40:23 AMI have also read that you really wont damage the rifle if you dry fire them either.
