Barrel Bands for 1377X

First operation, face and drill holes.


Second operation, face other side, drill and tap holes.


Third operation, bore and chamfer.


Make a fixture.  Arrg!

Very awesome design! Let us know how they turn out when you mount em!
By the looks of it, by removing a section on the lower part of the band (to accomodate the pump), it seems like you could install multiples on a 13xx along the length of the tube just for style points!  If so, any plans on making brass ones and selling a set?

Here is a picture of the band on a barrel from Mellon and section of Disco tube.  I guess these can work on the Discovery too?



No plans to make from brass at this time.  When I get the feedback from ED i'll send the remaining 20 set for black anodize.

The wonders of CNC.  Clever way of laying the parts out and fixturing. ANd now you have programming and fixturing for more!

Yes, the wonders of CNC.  This one worked out well with the layout, it's not often you can get 6 finished pieces with 4 button pushes   All setups were simple vise work with parallels and stops except for the last, the fixture was machined in place as can go easily back in a vise to make more.
