RWS 4-12x50 CI Scope

Just curious if there is anyone out there using this scope on their rifle. From the description it states the following;
"
RWS Airgun Scopes are equipped with Airgun Shock Reinforcement (ASR) Technology that allows the scope to handle the specific recoil of an airgun where the first kick is rearward like a firearm, followed by an additional forward kick that is unique to an airgun. Firearm scope lenses are reinforced at the front to handle the rearward kick. The lenses on an RWS Air Gun Scope are additionally reinforced at the rear to handle the second (forward) kick. ASR Technology protects the scope lenses from the unique recoil of an airgun
."
Is this ASR Technology a bunch of mumbo jumbo or not? I'd like to add this scope to a Model 48 but I don't have a lot of experience with scopes. I'd like to get something that is going to last just a long as the gun and give me many years of service. I actually found this scope at an On-Line retailer for $86.86, seems to be a fair price. I'm trying to decide if spending a little more for a different scope would be a better purchase in the long run. Thanks for your guidance Folks!!

Rock solid scope.....although not the clearest on the highest setting, for my kind of precise shooting.
Built like a tank, has been on the 34 for many and many of shots. Thinking of eventually putting it on the 350.
The clicks are solid and precise, some scopes require you, too walk the shots in, till the adjustments settle, not this one.
89 dollars......beats the almost 200 I paid. It will last for a long, long time.
RWS 4-12x50 ci scope not cL...cannot even find a listing for a cL.
Mine is a 4-12x50 ci scope with illuminated reticle, believe it is an etched glass reticle.

I changed the subject line to CI instead of CL. Just want to make sure others can find this in the future if they have this same question.

Thanks again for the reply's on this scope. It sounds like it'll work great for me for the plinking and pest control I'll be doing around the property.
I'll be ordering this scope later this week. With that said, I also need to know if the RWS Lock Down Mount 30mm is the best way to get this married up to the Model 48 or are the rings that come with the scope sufficient? I just wanted to make sure before I order the wrong thing.

Mine is on a break barrel, that had barrel droop, so I used the rws 1 piece droop compensating mount.
if the scope comes with 2 piece rings, need to ditch them and get a 1 piece mount.
I would think, you would need, an rws droop mount, but I could be wrong.
FYI, My scope has a 30mm scope body, "do not know", if they make a 1in scope body as well.

RWS 4-12x50 CI Features:
- Airgun Shock Reinforcement Technology = recoil proof
- 4-12x magnification
- 50 mm objective lens
- Red Illumination
- 7 steps of luminance brightness
- MilDot Reticle
- Adjustable objective
- 30 mm tube
- 13.5 inches in length
My concern now is the length, I'm not sure if it will be back far enough so as not to block the breach.

Mine fits on a 34 no problem, one dude here has one on an HW97K.
It is a big scope dude, but built like a tank!

This is good dope. Some of the not too distant RWS scopes were only fit for medium (non-magnum) springers and did not fare well at all on a 350, etc. I've steered clear of them but now I will know to keep an eye out if a good deal pops up. Thanks!

I here you there RED, my 350 came as a combo. It came with a RWS 300 scope, she ate that right away.
Grabbed my RWS 350 scope (small compact), figured it has to be for the 350, it says 350. Well the 350 scope was not intended for the 350, I can tell you that.
It did not last long either, think maybe all of 50 shots, then it was cooked.
The build difference of the RWS CI scope is night and day, etched glass, weighs a ton. I picked it up after reading on line reviews, quite a few had this scope, sitting on their 350's, some for several thousand shots.
I put it on the 34, as a tester, looks goofy on that rifle, but it works and works well.
It will handle the 350 no problem.

The RWS ci scope utilizes an etched glass reticle, on the highest magnification it is not the clearest....no where near as clear as my bushnell banners.
I have only had leapers 3-9x40's, if the 4-12x44 are as clear as the leapers I have had, then the rws scope does not hold a candle to them.
I like the RWS scope, seeing it is built like a tank, but it is not as crisp as I would like it to be, especially for the money I paid.

I have this scope on my 350 Magnum. I have a few hundred shots thru the gun since mounting it and so far everything is fine. I like the scope. I was worried at first, reading that the optics weren't that good but actually they suit me fine, I was pleasantly surprised. I always shot open sights till the last few years and have never owned an expensive scope but I would have to say these are maybe just a very wee bit less clear than my two UTG's but the reticle is thinner and makes up for the difference. Mine is fairly clear thru the whole range and I couldn't ask for much better for the price.
