Cheap plinker: daisy 880, crossman 1377, or Remington AM77

Ok these are three I'm looking at for a cheap but reliable plinker
The AM77 Ive read is pretty accurate and on sale refurbed for 40, and comes wih a scope!
I'd have to add a stock to the 1377, which would put it over 70
And the daisy is 45 shipped from amazonian
I'm most concerned about getting the most out of the box performance and accuracy for the $
Would the refurbed am77 be the best choice?

I have not dealt with the am77 but I have a 1377 and a daisy 880. Plinking is fun with the 880, it is accurate and I have taken several nutters with it out to about 20 yards.

The 1377 is better built. Plinking is also fun with it but the 880 is easier to pump and shoot. To be fair my 1377 has a flat top piston and valve ( making it harder to pump) and I am not as good of a shot with a pistol. I have taken nutters and rabbits out to 25+ yards with y open sighted 1377.

You might want to look at the Crosman Bug Out Kit, Walmart sells them for $87, and no shipping if you pick up at the store. It comes with the Crosman 2289 (.22 version of the 1377) pump pistol, a removable shoulder stock, 500 pellets, water bottle and a backpack to hold it all. The pistol has a better fore grip that will make it easier to pump. The 1377/1322 and 2289 are very accurate and upgradeable, if you wish to do that later. The 2289 has a 12" barrel and should be even more accurate.

Hmm that doesn't look like a bad option. A little more then I'd like to spend, and the barrel is a little loose. But I like that it's a 22, and the design. Hmmm!

I think it's 125 pellets, but CPHP's are only $9/500 at walmart, or the Discovery sampler pack that's like $7.50ish/400 there

I've read it's pretty much identical to the c2100

From your list, Best out of the box plinker = AM77 /2100  (same gun in different colors)
(have not handled the Daisy, but am still shooting my 766, original version of the 2100, after 33 years)

Points where it surpasses the 1377,  I own 3 1377's,
More power per pump..
For example with 7.0 grain .177 RWS Basic pellets,
My internally modified 1377 gives 415 fps @ 3 pumps and  570fps @ 8 pumps
My 766 w/still untouched factory internals, 501 fps @ 3 and 662 fps @ 8 pumps, and the pumping is easier.

Accuracy, "out of the box" also goes to the AM77/2100.
Simple, Rifle vs pistol.  Both have rifled Crosman barrels.
I love my pistol configured 1377's, they are very accurate ...for pistols.
Maybe with lots of mods (on the 1377),
internal to boost power  $$$,
and Longer barrel $$$,
and shoulder stock $$$ and
steel breech $$$ ... so you can mount scopes or redot or peep type sights,
you can eventually surpass the un-modified AM77/2100* accuracy. ... 
But "out of the box" the AM77/2100 will accurately reach out further, stock.
*Comes stock with 3/8" dovetail mounting for other types of sights.

Both 1377 and 2100/AM77 need a little trigger work to be the best they can be. 
The 1377 trigger is easier to optimize.

Because, of the rifle vs pistol, sort of not a fair comparison. 
The 1377 is a great value and lot'o fun .. for a pistol.
But for your original question...
No doubt,  the 2100 or AM77  is "best out of the box" plinker.

it is... if you can get one for that cheap, buy it. The 2100 platform is very accurate and responds well to tuning. it also provides the best ergonomics of the group. As a second i would choose the 880, especially if you can find an older one that is made in the usa. great plinker with the power to do pest no problem. Both will benefit greatly from a cheap 4x32 and provide very good hunting/pesting/plinking platforms. The 1377 is great. But not a rifle. not even with the stock on. (i am not biased, i own 3 13xx based pistol/carbines... and 1 766 (2100 daddy). Just shoot one more than the other 3. Also have the 880 but in .22 (822)... shoot that one more than the other 3. But those are really hard to find, specially with a wood stock and metal receiver. if you want reliable, forever pump up look into a refurb or used benjamin 397 or 392.

I've had 1377's and love them, yet the 880 is my ( quick grab-n-go ) for stupid shooting. Like neighbors dogs, it is nice for the face that I'm not going to put anyone's dog in the hospital.  Plus it's sort of a repeater ( with bb's ). Clean the barrel and POW you got a cool little pumper. All that said I know nothing of the AM77

With regards to cocking effort the Am77 is as easy as it gets.  Four shoulder surgeries tells me so.

2100, 766, has a bb magizine for 'sort of' repeater too....  probably isnt good for the rifleing though.

i tried a 880 , i didn't trust the plastic receiver to hold a scope as secure as the metal one on the 77/2100 . i took it back and got the 2100 from wally world for a few bucks cheaper than the refurb AM77 with shipping . the 2100 also has a shorter pumping stroke than the 880 and (for me) it made pumping more comfortable . the pump arm on the 2100 also felt more durable than on the 880 .

the 880 is infinetely easier to pump, as the pump does not seem to build back pressure, unlike the crosman. I have both and i can vouch for that. The flimsy pump arm on the 880 is not weak by any stretch of the imagination... is just that, very flexible. As per rifling... the 2100 will eventually get damaged from using BBs... the 880 has what they call a "dodecahidral" barrel (essentially 12 lands...) but they are very fine and seem to be very resilient to BBs. Mine shoots both accurately, but the pellets will obviously group better specially at distances. Either one will do... i trust both but the 880 (or its cousins) are lighter to the shoulder, and have better open sights... why not get both??? if you dont like one of them post it on the classies...

I had my AM77 (tuned) out for some paper punching yesterday - consistent 14 yard single ragged holes!
I have it scoped with a Crosman 4x32 scope... one of the highest accuracy/cost rifles in my cabinet (if not the highest). Love that little rifle - plasticy as it is.
