FX Royale 400 .177

Today I finally received my Royale 400 .177. It came with the three stage adjuster and a walnut stock. Keep in mind this rifle is completely stock. I haven't done any accuracy testing yet. I hope to do that tomorrow. I promised some members here on the forum some preliminary numbers so here goes.

I tested three pellets. Each pellet was shot in each setting. A total of 5 shots per setting.

The other item I was curious about was if the settings were repeatable. I can say they were. I went from setting to setting and I was consistently getting the same FPS range as appropriate for that pellet. I even mixed pellets in the magazine and the results were very impressive. Below are a few pics. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

On a side note, FX started shipping guns with dust covers for the fill port. At least mine came that way. My Royale 500 didn't have one so I will have to get one ordered for it. A good step in the right direction I think form FX.

Great looking FX.  My friend wants the Royal 400 after having shot my Cyclone.  Yeah...I always wondered why FX don`t include a plug to keep the dust/sand out of the filling port.

how is the accuracy with the smooth twist barrel at lower velocity?  my s510 in .177 and .22 shoot like &^^& at lower velocity with LW barrel. seems air arms LW barrel only works good at velocity over 750 fps.  which is weird to me?  what do the those 500fps target rifle shoot so well?

I haven't sighted it in yet. I will try to do that tomorrow. I'll report what my findings are at that time.

I've been waiting for this post.  Thanks for the intro writeup man.

Power adjuster on the 500 works well -- I plinked at midrange power at 30 yards really consistently

Btw, AoA sent me one of those caps when they fixed my gun -- they may have more.

JS, I'll be sure to post more soon. I tried mounting my scope earlier and shooting in the garage but my scope has run out of vertical adjustment. I will first reverse the rings. If that doesn't help I'll shim the front scope ring. It is shooting really low. Thanks for the info on the cap. I'll more than likely call Jim at Precision to see if he has any. These are great rifles for sure.
