Although the Gauntlet is due in May, I decided to get a head start. As it is based on the QB, I have a bunch of ideas here that will end up on it, and have ordered a QB78S as a mule. It will end up set up for the PRod magazine (longer than the MRod) to allow using the 34gr Jumbo Beast pellets, and will feature parts SA will be selling for the QBs. The Gauntlet will get all these features... and more. They will both end up with huge plenums, and tanks. I'm working on stroking them, and they will both end up with heavier hammers. The Gauntlet will end up with an Evanix magazine (probably 9mm).

I did some mods to the trigger group, a long time ago. The safety plunger fit poorly, so after realizing it would try to jam, I made a new one. I also set up the safety lever to have some detent, so it didn't feel so cheap, and although the Gauntlet's stock appears to limit the travel, I just like firm "clicks"... so it may get the same mod.

I coated the TG with Teflon bearing powder coat, and did a trigger job.

Supercalafragaisticexpialadoution ,
but I am not sure at all if QB base will be safe for 2600-3000 PSI.
Also standard barrel twist rate not be suitable for Beast .

I will be putting extra side screws in the valve or block. It will be set up for 3K the same way I do the Fusion/XS60:

It sounds a litle bit better and I hope that you not forget for hammer adjustment screw and TSS too. 4500 PSI FC swapable bottles ( 5-500cc) let us versatibility

Not to worry...

They will be set up with my Gas Ram Striker system. Infinitely adjustable, using your pump.

All the math is done for a 4.5K capable gun. I don't plan for that, but it isn't out of the question.

So what are your plans to secure the bolt into the receiver, since the QB has the bolt pointed at the user's face unlike the XS60C/Fusion?

The bolt would have to shear the R mount screw, which is threaded into the breech cap.

Sounds like a fun project!

I have a repeater-breech QB-79, and from what I can visually tell after perusing a lot of pictures, the repeater-breech QB kit and the Gauntlet are the exact same gun. The only differences are the Gauntlet is shrouded and it has a different stock.

As it stands, after hyping myself into saying "this is my next airgun", I'd decided to hold off. I have a void that would be better filled by either one of the 3 SPA bullpups (10, 12, or 15), a Cometa Orion, or the Kral Puncher Breaker; I'm just flip-flopping between .22 and .25 right now.

The QB78S is here... and I'm thrilled with it. The stock is stout, and with a little time spent ridding it of mold lines, and a coat of properly textured bed liner... it will be as nice as it gets.

Teardown begins tomorrow, and I'll get pics of the interior of the stock. There is a compartment in the pistol grip, that presents some very interesting possibilities. There is a real surprise in the stock design, that will allow some interesting options.

Andy (my co-conspirator) loves the thing, and we'll be getting one for him to learn some basic machine work on... so, there will be 2 distinct versions built at the same time.

Yup. There is so much room inside these, I'm eventually going to end up making a survival rifle out of one, which will include a laser, a light, a solar panel... and maybe even a phone charger. Swiss Army 78s?
