My first official attempt at the NUAH Club

OK, here's my first attempt, I previously have hit a steel plate 7" - 8" wide by 10" tall at 168 yards, but that was then, this is official. So it was a pretty nice afternoon 47 degrees, with an 8mph wind WNW switching left to right, so I tried to wait for it to calm down, take a shot, then reload and wait for the next lull in the wind. I think I may have the rifle Air Force TalonDor 18" 25 cal AF barrel, heavy hammer, R&L Extreme valve, a little on the hot side. Started with a 2800 PSI fill and the PW set at 4/0 and she is slinging JSB kings at 970 average. I think if I switch over to the heavies and keep them in the 800's or just in the 900's it will do a bit better. Also had the weird issue of several what I call weak shots, this generally means it's time to pull the guts out of the frame clean it up good and put just a little bit of graphite or very light silicone oil where the hammer slides, or make myself a nice heavy barrel guided hammer to keep things consistent and slick. Enough jabber, how did I do for my first try, I pulled the high shot, and the weak shot never hit the paper, so rather than take another shot, I went with the take 5 shots rule just like I teach my kids at 4-H. Three shot group measures 2.1525" C to C Oh and last bit the "closer target is 111 yards lasered, and the far target is 220 yards lasered.
Here's the pictures, Wife was there to witness:
Thanks,
Casey

I hope to get some more trigger time here very soon, the rifle will hold dime sized ragged holes all day at 50, and no more than nickle size at 70, so I just need to shoot it more. Been working too many hours, coaching the 4-H kids, and trying to keep up with that never ending honey do list while trying to finish a custom Disco in 25. This just proved to me I need to shoot my guns more. I also just remembered I did sight in a 308 light weight hunter just prior to trying for the NUAH club, maybe should have waited on that..
Well here hoping I at least make it in as a member I can then work on moving up.

Good shooting Rualert, you are right about practice, never enough time especially with good conditions.

Yeeeaaa! Another Virginian makes it! If this keeps up, we may have to try and organize a Virginia NUAH Shoot.
I had better get pumping!

What good is 500+ FPE if you can't hit what you are shooting at?

Thanks all, it's good to be a member of this great group. I still remember when everyone told us 100 yards was not even possible. Now were breaking that plus a whole lot more. I'll get to work on cleaning up my rig, and finishing up my custom Disco build and get as much trigger time as I can to move on up in the ranks. As for all the Virginia guys, I agree it would be great to get together for a fun day of shooting especially at the 100 mark and beyond. Also thanks for the kind words on the range, we just go it in the current shape this year, and finished up the 200 yard reach a few weeks back. It's actually our food plot out on the family hunting and outdoor playground land. We just about have our cabin fully completed, totally off grid power, water, heat, just need to finish a few more items there, and get the radio tower up so we can hang a couple of antennas, a weather station, and just maybe be able to pick up some WiFi from a free place within 20 or so miles using the right antenna setup just for that, otherwise we will use a MiFi device to catch the net out there. But really I don't miss it much when I'm out hunting, shooting, riding the 4 wheeler, those things just make the net less interesting at least until you stop.
