I can disassemble the rifle, remove the rings and mallet it off, but am sure there must be a better way to do it. Any suggestions?I also examined the sight. I am not sure, but I think it may be a composite, not metal. It would be the only not metal thing on the gun. In any event I tried to remove the leaf to access any set screw and was unable to do so. It is not uncommon to use a compression fit for things that are not intended to be altered frequently. It is thought to be better, especially for sights, because there is nothing to come loose and change the zero.I would use the largest punch that will fit under the center of the rear sight and gently tap with a light hammer, a brass gunsmith's hammer if you have it or a tack hammer. There will be some resistance, but it should move.
