What the heck changed with the new label .22 Crosman Premier domes????

I noticed the label on the lid of the Crosman Premier .22 is new. Underwhelmed with their quality control.

I find it hard to complain too much when they are easy to find and priced under $7 at Walmart. Good plinking ammo and some guns shoot them well regardless of the inconsistent head sizes and a few bits of extra lead in the bottom of the tin.

I picked up a tin with the new label a few weeks ago while in Walmart but hadn't tried them until this past weekend.  Needed to do a little chronograph testing and rough sighting after reassembling a rifle.
 
When I got ready to set up the scope, I lucked out and the first shot was pretty close to the POA.  Pretty much right in the center of an 8.5" x 11" target paper at 25 yards.  The second shot zinged wide right, entirely missing the paper.  The third shot went about 2 inches to the upper left, and the fourth went about 2 inches to the right.
 
Uh oh.  This rifle has problems.  My mind swarmed with the possibilities.
 
So I walked over to the shop and grabbed a tin of JSB 18.1gr and proceeded to put two pellets through the same hole.  Then swung over to the 43 yard target and put the first 5 through a dime.
 
Honestly the Crosman pellets looked fine to the naked eye, no serious flashing or mold defects or physical damage.  Granted that's only one rifle but given this poor showing, I don't hold out a lot of hope.  Crosman pellets are like a box of chocolates.  You never know what you're gonna get.  I've gotten some excellent ones on occasion but when I think about it, the last time was probably 2 years ago.

That's what my feelings were also; cheap, pretty darn good accuracy, and hard lead to survive even amazon shipping. You know those "fill in" amazon orders between legit PA pellet orders.
Crosman and Eunjins are the only pellets that I wash/lube. I don't mind swarf in the bottom. But that's some pretty big casting around the necks!!! I'm not going to continue buying them if they are like that from now on! These weren't pellets that I was settling for or using just for plinking they shot great out my barrel! So it's sad to see your "go to pellet" with casting like that. I think I'm going to order a MM prod barrel and go JSB (and never look back).

I think time is too precious to waste your time with inaccurate pellets. I spent more on gas, food and drink than on any other spendings i do with my airgun hobby. It's not worthwhile skimping on pellets. If this is the new Crosman quality i'd never buy a tin again.

Damm. I hope they are just a bad batch. CPUM's are my favorite general purpose ammo. Cheap, accurate and hard hitting with my guns.

    Has anyone noticed if this problem exist in the boxed pellets.

Wow, you have to be fairly determined to bend the skirts on those things.

It sure cant be cheaper to make them in the USA as the last lead mine closed two years ago. So the lead has to be shipped in.  I sure hope they dont keep making them that bad. I am going to stock up more with the old tin when I can find them.

If their QC continues like that, they will be back to looking like the "flying ash cans" within a year..
