Old technology. But I don't know if any rifles use this. Can't imagine it doing any harm. BUt i can see it helping those Ultra magnums from shacking loose

It could be a possible help, except the smallest one is 6 mm inside diameter. I don't think there are many places using 6 mm bolts on an airgun - that's about a quarter inch.

I have pretty good results using a flat washer next to the wood and a star washer between the flat washer and the screw.

I've used these on some difficult critical fasteners in racing applications. I can say they absolutely work. I have used them where a redesign was called for to prevent loosening of a joint and they solved the problem well enough that the redesign was able to be done when it was more convenient. Great product for sure. Shame they don't make them small enough for air gun use.

Just ordered the Nord Locks, I'll let you know how they work out. $2 a piece (minimum 5 pieces). Kinda steep but not if you only have to buy them once.

Got them today, only took 24hrs to show up (how do they do that?)! They are very high quality parts. Fit perfectly on my Benjamin Trail NP XL .22Cal (NL1/4's Part #91812A229). Make sure you measure both inside and outside diameter before ordering, they don't fit on my Benjamin Trail NP2 (darn I thought I'd get 2 rifles done with 1 order). They are 2mm thick so the screws do not fit all the way down inside the holes any more, they stick out about 1mm. Really not a problem since they are rounded heads but not as clean as completely inset screws. I'm VERY pleased with them and highly recommend them. I will order more for my other guns for sure. Now the only loose screw is the one between my shoulders...

That was fast! Now you need to go out and shoot a 100 times or so to see if they work.

I now know what size to order for one of my rifles. I'll try to figure out if another size will work on the rest of 'em. I can live with the screw head protruding a slight bit as long as they work.

How many shots in the past before your screws became loose?

I too watched the entire vid - they say you can address one or the other situation but explain neither. Vibration is handled by Loctite, backing out due to crush by spring type lock washers and/or torquing in stages over time (sometimes specifications indicate doing it again in a week or month, like cylinder heads).

For airguns I'd think both issues can be addressed by adding cups and locking hardware both, and using Loctite but of course no re-torque is possible with the Loctite on there. The cups help distribute the pressures to the entire surface area, especially if you over tighten a little to set the cup then do the Loctite thereafter.

All told, there are many airguns that don't loosen the screws or have any Loctite on them, so proper design, attention to detail like torque specs, quality parts and proper lubrication (threads are supposed to be lubricated to insure torque is correct).

The special fasteners look interesting, but I'd like to believe if good parts and maybe a cup kit don't resolve the problem on a properly functioning airgun, then these special fasteners won't either. My $.02 $:-\$

Oh, on the gun that is backing out the screw at the trigger assembly area, sorry I didn't pay enough attention, but if you are dealing with Umarex on warranty, I'd send it back to Pyramid Air before getting stuck with Umarex!

Please let us know how those special washers hold up after a few hundred (thousand?) rounds?
