when i tighten the co2 cartridge in, it proceeds to completely leak out into the inerior of the gun immediately I have not taken it apart yet. and the warranty is up, I bought it probly 2 or so years ago. what do i need to do to fix it? is it worth it? being that its merely a 25$ gun,,,, not sure what to do. is this a new toy for my nephew? lol, or can it be salvaged?

Josh, I don't have any CO2 guns but I have read that it helps to put a drop of Crosman Pellgun oil on the end of the cartridge before you insert it into the gun. Have you tried that? Also, thanks again for the Quest 800 sale. Good luck with the daisy.

I had a 15XT and really liked it. It was great for grasshopper control around the yard, but it's seal went like you say yours did. It probably can be fixed, but I just pitched mine.

Bwana is right about the Pelgunoil, and some people have gotten their CO2 guns to seal back up with one or even two cartridges having the drop of it on the tops of them.
If it works, you will definitely want to make it routine to have a drop of it on each new cartridge to maintain the seals and prevent a future leak.

If the pellgunoil doesn't help, take it apart and learn what makes that thang tick! You've probably got a bad seal or o-ring. You say it's only a $25 gun and it's not working now so you don't have much to loose. It wouldn't be worth sending it out to have fixed. Take pics and ask questions, we'll be glad to help if you decide to give it a try!

Joshua,
I had a 15xt for a while. Got it from Preez. Is he still around on the GTA? It was loud, horribly heavy trigger and a blast to shoot! LOL Fun little pistol.
Yes Pellgunoil can rejuvenate seals. They absorb the oil and if not too far gone can get you back up and running. Sometimes letting a few drops sit overnight on a seal can really make them come back. So if you don't want to pay $3 for a tube of it you can buy a quart of 30wt non detergent oil at the auto supply store. Guess it has been proven that Pellgunoil is just red dyed motor oil. Just make sure you get non-detergent.

If you'll go here:
http://www.daisy.com/serviceform.html
you can contact Daisy and they will email you an exploded view parts diagram that shows how everything goes together and has part #'s so you can order what you need from them or someplace like JG Airguns
http://www.jgairguns.biz/
Just remember rule #1: Have fun!

Just joined this forum mainly because I have 2 15xt pistols (very accurate for cheapies, horrid trigger) and both developed the symptom of immediately leaking all the Co2 as soon as the cartridge was put in. The fix is to take the gun apart. There's a couple small pieces and springs to keep track of, but it's not too difficult of a job if you take time and keep it all in order on the table. Anyway, the chamber that holds the CO2 just above the cartridge is the culprit. On the back end of it is a disc shaped cap about the size of a nickel which unscrews with a large flat blade screwdriver. The white hard plastic o-ring under it is what leaks. I clean the threads of the cap very well and then put some quality automotive RTV silicone on the threads (Dirko and Nissan brand RTV are my favorite... I work on cars/tractors most days so I deal with silicones a lot). Then screw the cap back on and put the gun together. Let it sit for a while to let the RTV harden. This fixed both my 15xt pistols and I hope others can be salvaged. BTW, if anyone has a leaky one sitting around they don't want to fix, I'd be willing to buy it for a small price!

Yeah, there are two problem seals with this gun, the Face Seal ( seal where the C02 Cartridge makes contact) and the Valve Seal ( Located in the Valve Body)
Both are easy fixes, first you can call Daisy customer service or email them and they will send you a free Face Seal, but you will have to buy the Valve Seal for around 25 cents, if you request it they will email you a complete break down (Tear down) of the gun with prices for the parts.
The face seals they sent me are thick and clear, just tear the gun down and get a smallish flat head screw driver and gently unscrew the Punture Pin Holder, the old seal will come out thru the bottom side of it, then just replace it with the new seal and gently screw it back on but make sure its firm for a good seal.
Both seals were bad on my gun but i didnt have to buy the valve seal either, when i took it apart and inspected it i noticed alot of excessive oil on the seal and in the Valve Body, i took the seal out and dipped it in Rubbing alcohol to make it oil free and really clean, then i dipped a Q-tip in the alcohol and cleaned the inside of the valve body housing especially the area where the seal makes contact, then the valve cap, cap ring ,spring, valve and seal collar all got the same treatment with the alcohol, i put it all back together real snug and it sealed like a champ and shot like one too, its my opinion the the owner of the gun before me oiled it to much and it affected the seals especially inside the Valve body in a negative way.
