What's Good Pellet Fit?

On my new RWS 34 .22 cal., Crosman Premieres drop right in, while H&N Baracudas need a decent push to seat them.
What type of fit is generally Better?
Also, I have some FTT Greens I'd like to try in the gun but they are only 9.5 or so grains. Will shooting this light of ammo damage the gun?

I usually prefer a snug fit, but let the gun tell you what it prefers. My 97 shoots best with a tight, needs a good push, fit. 98 shoots best with pellets fitting loosely. TX will shoot almost anything very well.
Can't answer the lighter pellet issue, but I usually stay away from them.

The best fit is what works in your gun.... If you push a pellet back out of the breech, the head should ideally have good engraving marks from the rifling lands but not smeared in between.... The skirt will always be tight, it is 0.007"-0.010" larger than the head....

Bob is right on, as always. Understand too that with the Crosman Premiers, and many others, the variance in the head dia. makes a big difference. A Mic is helpful. If you're buying tins of CPs, you're not getting consistency. Boxed CPs are from the same die. Most consistent.
EDIT: Nobody can tell you the worth of the Green pellets, if you haven't used them. If they don't group, or you don't have piston slam. There's no basis to say Yea or Nea. Ya know

Which ever ones group best at the other end of the flight. Like at the target.

My experience is that it needs to be just tight enough. My theory is that just tight enough to engage the rifling and seal properly but not so much as to create extreme resistance going down the barrel is what you want. I actually did a blind study with CPHP's sorted by head size (as their all over the place). Consistency is your friend and the cheaper brands (CPHP,gamo) just aren't that consistent. My Whisper likes head sizes around 4.48mm which is a little on the loose side. Gammo pellets aren't very consistant and tend to be more like 4.46. Many other pellets are around 4.52. I have found that RWS Superdomes and RWS Basic Match are right around 4.48 and my gun loves them. Your gun may like ones more around 4.50, 4.52 or even the 4.44s. I think JSB is generally more like 4.43. The RWS Hobby Match which is almost exactly the same as the Basic match is around 4.50 if memory serves.
You probably can lean a bunch by pushing one with a wood rod through the barrel. Use a straw on the end if you have baffles.
