Hi Gents,
Just want to know if you still know a store selling the old crosman .22 pointed in green and gray packaging (pls
See pic). This works well with my cz200....too bad the new batch with red and blue design packaging is not the same or should I say contains mostly rejects. Crosman beginning to have lapses in their quality conrol....
Here are some facts about the new batch:
1.The new batch had a tin that requires a wrench to open.i actually destroyed the can to get the pellets inside, some sort of glue must be holding the covers...
2. The pellets have some sort of excess lead on the tips making the shape and weight different. I think they,re using new dice in production but this ones not cleaned after molding leaving excess lead in the pellets...(imagine waffles coming out of the mould having excess waffles on sides.)
3. Crosman doesnt care even if I emailed twice about this concern. I didnt get any response at all..
I hope someone could confirm if theres any available old batches.
Thanks,
Jeff

If Crosman has changed the package the older package will likely only be found until all the old ones have sold. You can try eBay but may pay a premium price to get what you want.
I believe the pointed pellets are also sold in a cardboard carton. The carton pellets are frequently of a better grade than the one in the tin.
To open a tin I usually put the bottom in my bench vise then use a strap wrench on top. They aren't glued just tight.

I've got a tin right now that resists all the tricks I've tried in the past.
Crosman 22 cal UltraMags.
Next step is to take a Dremel tool to it and cut some relief slots in the lid threads.
I believe I've had the top off before and my hands are too weak to put it on this tight.
Maybe it is a new one.
They all look alike to me.

The ones I had a problem with is the Destroyer tin.
Not knowing any better, I took a small straight screw driver and worked my way around the threads, slightly bending as I went.
It does work but I'll have to try the other ideas listed here.
