Hi rkr,I saw somewhere a shrouded barrel on the BSA Buccaneer in this forum i guess. Do you think I should try to remove the barrel band. It donīt seem to me, that the barrel is bend but there is a small gap (1 mm) on the under side of the barrel (small ring of the barrel band where the barrel itself go through) also i can move the barrel down by pressing it toward the pressure tube.
A BSA barrel in working order should print 1/4"-1/2" groups at 50M. I'd start by checking the barrel band, if it bends the barrel then that is a very likely cause for your poor accuracy.

If it were a consistent capability, the indoor matches would have such groups consistently; scoring 400/40X...and yet this is not the case.cheers,Douglas
Rocker, do you mean the Gamo Coyote, which is the same Rifle with other Stock? Did the shroud-tube only touches the barrel? I would like to know, if the breech or the fitting of the barrel is build well enough to hold it strengh without barrel band.
Hello, last day I tried the Buc again without the barrel band. Your where right, the barrel band pushes the barrel pretty much downwards. I also tightened the screws on the stock, now the hpa tube isn`t free floating anymore. The problem is, the accuracy is as bad as bevor. I only got some 5,51 jsb exact left and a tin of cometa jsb express pellets. Also some HN Barracuda Match extra heavy.I am realy looking forward to get the new pellets to test. I also don`t know if the low velocity output is problem. I hope the high power transfer port is in stock soon at john briggs airgun spares...
