Well being left handed I really had to think about it when buying a right handed monte carlo stock.
So with the B51 stock in hand I tore into it. The finish was so hard no amount of stripper would dent
it. Rabbit planed the cheek piece down and rasped the thumb hole out. I used 80 grit paper and block sanded all but the grip area. Went to the palm sander to work the thumb hole but I really didn’t want to go too far and open it up. It fits me and that’s the goal. Sanded out all the scratches and hit it with some pecan stain. Tru oil finish was easy, and done. Sanded for about 4-5 hours and planed and rasped
for around 1 hour. Stay away from the edge of the stock butt and the sharp edges. Good Luck.
If I can do it anyone can!

Nice job.
While I am not a lefty, have had the urge to un-ambidexterize a couple of stocks.

Looks good, I was thinking about removing the cheek piece from my B50 stock and maybe contouring a bit on the pistol grip. Even though that factory clear finish is hard to remove I have put a few dents in mine, do you think that Tru oil will give it more protection.

Tru oil is just a fast finish. It is a mid soft finish but can be touched up easily. A hard finish takes allot of time and drips on a rifle stock
are a real challenge. I also like Lin speed oil. It's harder but just as easy to use.

Very nice work! I started de-ambi'ing my Titan stock about a year ago. However, several hours of sanding aggravated my carpal tunnel and I left it alone.
Congrats on a fine looking gun!
