ARE THEY MADE IN THE US OR NOT?

Are the Benjamin Maudie's and Trail's made and assembled here in the US? Or, are they like many things US and actually assembled in China or some other 3rd world country? Just curious!

Marauder, yes. Made in USA.
Trail, no. Made in China to Crosman specs.
The Marauder pistol says on the box, "Made in the USA with some foreign components". I would guess this applies to the rifle, too.

What Daveshoot said, but letting you know that the Remington NPSS (also a Crosman air rifle) is also made in USA.

Thanks, guys. I have been on this kick here lately trying to buy U.S., but only find its really not. Not to say that some of products aren't quality built, but what happened to U.S. engineering and craftsmanship. I guess it got out sourced too!

"made in US with some foreing parts" .......is a great way to cover your butt, that way all the parts could be made abroad and the gu only assembled in the US and still the statment would be valid.

Speaking as someone who really does go out of his way to "buy American" as much as possible, even if it costs a bit more, I fully understand the motivation to buy domestic stuff.
However, we are in a global market anymore, and no one in America is going to take mimimum wage to make a part that will not allow the manufacturer to make even a modest profit on if he pays even a dollar an hour more for it.
I believe most of the parts on both the Marauder and NPSS are still made here, not just assembled here, but it's a safe bet some of the smaller and cheaper components are made elsewhere, just for the reason I cited above.
I believe both guns' barrels and receivers are made here, and (as mentioned) they are all assembled here.
I'm just extremely proud that Crosman has made a great effort to produce very high quality air guns here in the USA, and to do it at a reasonable price.
Also, there are some others with the made in USA label:
Benjamin 392/397
Sheridan Blue Streak/Silver Streak
Crosman 2100/Remington 77
Crosman 1377/1322
Crosman 760
Crosman 66 Pumpmaster
I'm probably missing a few others, but Crosman is
far
ahead of most manufacturers who make no effort at all to have so much as one screw made in the US.
They should be commended for that, and their customer service is outstanding.
That's a whole lot to be proud of.

Also the Benjamin HB and EB series pistols, last I checked.
Crosman had a video including an interview with a machinist on the plant floor, building parts for the Marauder. There will always be doubters but they have sure taken a lot of flak for building guns we really want.
We can't build walls around the country any more and we have taxed and legislated companies into going offshore to survive in a global economy. Emerging countries (those with native gumption) want a piece of the action and the whole thing is pretty much inevitable.
Look at the bright side, how many airgun dollars that used to go to Euro sources (to fund their free health care and early retirement benefits) are now going to the New York-based Crosman corporation? Sometimes WE are the low-cost producers... you can't blame Crosman for surviving and prospering. As a part-owner of General Motors I am proud to see an American company building market share on its own in a global recession.

Gotta hand it to Crosman; they have really ramped-up their product line/customer service arenas. I have 3 Crosman guns, 4 if you count one I still haven't found from a move yet (Pumpmaster, sniff).
Worth the money, the service is nothing short of outstanding!
In this economy, those are attributes that will keep Crosman going!
Gad...I've spent a grand or more last month or so on Crosman products! I'm sure there are those here whom have spent much more (longislandhunter, and others, step to the front of the line).

Last year I said I was going to focus on Crosman stuff this year, because I like what they are doing. I went with a new NPSS and the Marauder Pistol, which I think were my only two new purchases (we can't count used). I still haven't ruled out another Marauder in .25.
Can't wait to see what they do next!

When i opened up my marauder and saw " MADE IN AMERICA" on the receiver.. i should have guessed it would lead to me spending more money.. Well the sling had to be US made to, then the BKL mounts, made here. Now i'm trying to figure out how to justify spending $500.00 on the right leupold or burris so it can be a matching set of U.S. made/assembled components. Kinda hard to do when the Swift scope mounted up now does such a great job but i'd like to have at least one fine example of what the U.S. can still produce. J

I hear you there, JonnyReb.
I went to that trouble years ago with my Ruger M77 .30-06.
The rifle, scope (Leupold VariX-III 2.5-8x36mm), sling swivels (Uncle Mike's Super Swivels), scope rings (stock Ruger), and even the Montana quick adjust sling are all made here.
...just for the sake of principle.
