The term "semantics" refers to linguistics and the meaning, form, and interpretation of words, signs, sentences, etc. People most often use phrases like, "Let's not argue over semantics." This usually means that the general meaning (of a word, phrase, sentence, subject, etc.) has been addressed, and the conversation has stalled on small points that have no bearing on the overall/main subject matter.

Absoultely the smooth twist barrels are choked.... Just watch a video of the way they are made, they are squeezed around a rifled mandrel, which reduces the diameter to move steel inwards to form the lands of the rifling.... It is possible that the groove diameter is no smaller than the bore before squeezing, but there is no question that the lands are smaller than the bore preceeding them.... Therefore the muzzle is smaller than the rest of the barrel, and the pellets are squeezed as the spin is imparted to them.... From what I have read, they skid across the rifling, as they don't end up spinning near as fast as the rifling twist, and they have virtually no rifling marks on them after firing, either.... Measured spin rates are as low as one turn in 13 FEET.... Bob
