Just did one myself not 2 months ago ... Great shooter too !!http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=83857.msg804455#msg804455The BAM 50/51 platform makes for a great single shot .25 cal honestly not taking much in trick parts ... just some attention to a few details allowing use of MANY or OEM .177 cal parts.Do have FUN!! will be watching your build with a BIG smile
I want to do a build on my QB and have been considering .30, but .25 has been getting a lot of thought too.
Sounds like a great plan!I'm really enjoying my B50 and I left it 177 caliber. It is very accurate with AA 10.34 pellets and H&N FTT.I already have three 25 caliber PCPs, so I'm leaving my BAM 50 177 for now.I did most of the improvements I read about and the most important were 1) removing the spacer from the poppet and 2) reducing the OD of the poppet to 5/16", 3) adding a washer to the fill assembly to protect the filter from the fill stem, 4) polishing the inleede for smooth pellet insertion. The stock crown in mine seems just fine.I followed Rsterne's idea of fixing the hammer and cutting the hammer spring until I got a good shot string and that worked very well. My hammer spring ended up about 2/3 the length of the stock spring and my fill pressure is a very pleasant 1700 psi.Ray
Even though so much has been written about these rifles, don’t think all the “secrets” have been foundStuff you already know (bit it won’t hurt to repeat):1. They are going to be heavy no matter what you do to the stock (although you can change the balance). That air tube is surprisingly thick walled, there is no plastic other than butt plate/ seals, and everything seems to be geared to “beefy”. 2. . Basic tuning from “the book” is pretty well geared to .177 and getting more shots per fill (running at lower pressure). Might be able to use some of that information in reverse in .25. A .25 has a much larger appetite for air than smaller bores (more volume to fill). 3. Wood seems solid, plain, and not as prone to dents as the QB stocks. Can still spot a few places that have small voids filled on some stocks. Personal opionon is that they turn out better as blondes than breunetts. 4. Test the issue barrel, some of them are very good. Even though you want it as a .25, would be nice to know if the issue barrel was a keeper (or easier to defray the cost if selling a known-to-be-good BAM barrel).5. Bare-barreled, they are at least short…won’t be light, but will be more carbinish. Takes about 18” (and a fraction) of barrel to get to the end of the air tube, anything past that over hangs.

But i have yearned for one of these guns for many moon. And i've read what you have done and it will be my blueprint. Thank you so much for your work on this gun
Does anyone even make a regulator for 50 fpe? Not being a smart-aleck; a legitimate question. I'd be interested in something like that!
Mine currently REGULATED shoots with heavy pellets Right at @ 50 ft lbs.Tho shoot bullets of More weight the 2K set point would IMO be too little and not a good set up for that duty.
re-stain, or hydro dip... The bed-liner stuff belongs on truck beds and air tanks, not wood! C'mon Ced, you have more taste than that!!

Now come on YEMX, to each their own. I did my Logun Solo stock in Truck Bed liner and that stuff is way awesome. Sweaty face....NO PROBLEM....... OILY FACE.....NO PROBLEM! Plus it feels good in the hands. Plus i had already done a stock in the stuff. But my statement of using Truck Bed liner was a joke due to so many opinions on it back when i did it and posted on the Ole' Yeller.
