All spring i have seen on internet for hatsan models 33-99 have about 39 coils and wire diameter around 3,2mm. The ones for mod 125, 135 and perhaps most powerful torpedos and dominators are 49 nad 3,6mm. It was a big surprise to to find out that my mod 88 (which is basicly same design as mod 95) has 49coil 3,6mm spring found in more powerful models. Too bad I never cronied it because i don't have cronometer. I only know it sometime goes trough 2,5cm wood board with pointed pellet. It wont alway go through, that depends on board toughness. I cut about 4 coils.@Horatio There is a metal cap that goes on the muzzle thread. Thread is there probably for (@*#&%(*@&) or things like that.
Tnx Steve, glad you like it.Model 88 is basically same thing as mod 95 with shynthetic stock and few minor differences. I don't think it retails in US.The locking pin was slipping but I sanded off a thin layer of screw head so the small screw can catch next slot and it is holding tightly now. I think the flayers are pellet issue cos some fit too lose some too tight. Or I hold it different. Consistency is weak point with this gamo hunter pellets but this gun seems to like them better than any other that I have tried, and I tried at least a dozen different shapes and brands. They are also hard alloy and my thumb hurts after loading larger numbers of them.
Too bad I don't have chronograph because gun is a beast to shoot. The other day I went with my friends to junkyard plinking. We were all amazed with power output. We were shooting through various things; leather boots, 1inch wood board, 1mm aluminum plate, thin cans... I haven't put down any animal yet but this gun is capable for sure. Piston seal was making squiking noise and was slightly harder to cock because it was getting dry. I put three drops of thick motor oil on piston beside cocking lever. Squiking noise was gone and cocking became nice and smooth again but after a few shots oil started migrating to compression chamber and there was some slight dieseling. There was no detonations or much of a sound difference but I could smell burning oil. I hope this did not damage seal. I know next time only one drop will do it.
