You need to remove the grip frame two screws be careful of the small ball and spring and there should be a pin on the tube remove the pin then you can remove the valve.

knock it out from the top . that hole is where the breech screw attaches to, that is the tube plug . you really do not need to remove that tube plug to get the valve out, but it makes it easier if the valve is gunked up inside the tube.
once the pin is knocked out, I've used a deep well socket with a long extension that will fit inside the tube, going from the rear of the tube, try knocking the valve and plug forward. if needed use a hammer to tap it out.
once the valve is out you can replace the Orings , one on the outside of the valve, another between the valve and exhaust port.
when you resemble the tube plug, make sure its in the right location. note the position when you drive it out of the tube.
If the valve stem is bad, well your gonna need a new one. if you can purchase that 150 kit from that ebay , that should work just fine, it has all the parts you need. the two black rings are for the valve the smaller is for the bolt and the white/urethane ring is for the cap.
The valve might be hard to un-screw. I've used two vice grips ( not the proper tool , but they work) with head shrink or other non maring to loosen and if really gunked , to unscrew completely.
good luck , ya have problems, pm me ,
ebay post was on the vintage forum, but I copied it for you so you could order one. if you can contact Alan at ABairguns, I'm sure he could fix ya up as well and it might be quicker getting to you. he might want your old valve in exchange.

I will, my lab is goin on 10 he's been blind since he was 8. Love those bird dogs of any type, my shorthair was 14 when I lost her it's been 11 years and I still miss her. She was "the one". We don't have enough quail or pheasant around to justify a pointing dog anymore so we get after the waterfowl prety heavy!
