Sorry for bumping but I don't know how I missed this thread... These guns (766,2100/AM77,2200,Model 1) are just too fun... I keep my old 766 at the kitchen window for when I hear rats out back at night... I really need to invest in a mounted flashlight....Just to clear some things up... The first generation 766 had molded plastic around the straw barrel... This made it very stable... The last time I checked the new untapered 2100 barrel shrouds are still metal...For those who have problems getting their clam shells back together, the main culprit (among many) preventing you from closing it up is one of the pins around the trigger area. If you can work the end in, you're gold.. Be ready with a flat head to line up the safety also...
