Bottom line is that for casual shooting you can't beat a modern air rifle and for competition, there is no pb that can hold a candle to one of the top 10 meter air rifles. All in the same hole will get you a tie with 10 other competitors. Cost of shooting is no comparison, air rifle hands down. Hunting varmints and small game, air rifle holds its own. Anything larger, air rifle is a stunt and can't compete with a pb.

I've put shots in the same hole at 100 yards with my 10-22.I love my airguns but they will NEVER take the place of my firearms.

But unfortunately, that's not reality. Reality is that if I get to the store an hour after the ammo is put on the shelf, it's already gone. I consider it a lucky day when I can score any .22lr ammo of any kind at all. Even crappy Federal bulk. Now given the reality of ammo supply, it can get pretty frustrating pretty fast when you're trying to improve your skills and accuracy with crappy ammo.
