What was Crosman thinking!? There are no rails on the sides!
Last time I saw that amount of rail I was on Amtrak. I mean what the he--. What is the functional purpose of all that bulk? It's not like you're going to be kicking down doors in the dark with this thing. Other than a misguided (and poorly executed) "me-too" double-down-on-the-black-materials take on the FX Bobcat, I don't get it.
I like the long rail because it makes scope camming so much easier. On a long rail I can mount my scope far forward so that the camcorder's view finder sits just where it should for cheaking the gun comfortably. Price is going to have to be significantly less than $1000 or they will never get a toehold over the Korean guns.I personally don't see why the production costs for a .357 should be several hundred dollars more per gun than a .25 Mrod. Crosman owns the American .25 Market because the Mrod delivers a decent quality at a budget price. If they could do the same with the .357 at or below the $600 mark people would be owning these left and right. Just like the .25 Mrod has been the gateway by which non air gunners have been introduced to adult air guns with firearm-like ballistics, so a cheap but decent .357 would make big bore air gunning in vogue and not a niche market like it is now.
One thing I read was that those who witnessed it being fired said it was rather loud. You would think with all that bulky Sci-Fi looking plastic they would at least make it functional is quieting it down, you know?

To me it seemed loud, but this is the only big bore I have ever heard fired. Other people there seemed to think it was fairly quiet for a big bore.I think my .25 SynRod is really quiet, people that shoot .177's might think it is loud. That big bore with lots of air coming out really fast has got to be a challenge to quiet down.Jim - jhm757
