1322 or 2289?

I want to get a 1322 or 2289. I will change the breech, add a scope and, perhaps, some other
mods that I can do or get done. Will do some polishing of trigger/sear and barrel cleaning as I read
these are easy improvements. Want to "carbine" either pistol with a stock. I want to do some
target practice, plinking in the woods and very small game.
As both models, with stocks, are about the same price in packages, is there a preference or
advantage to one over the other? I have read specs and reviews of both pistols and watched
videos but have not seen a direct comparison between the "backpacker" and the newer 1322.
Would appreciate views from those with experience.

I ordered some pellets from Straight Shooter, primarily RWS Meister's Rifle and they sent me Pistol. Pretty new to this sport, what's the main difference in the pistol and rifle pellets? Send them back or just not so good it up and go on?

My hunting buddy emailed me this morning that he finally had a chance to edit and upload a video of a hunt we did earlier this year in the spring. We shot a bunch of squirrels this day I'd say at least 125+ between the both of us. I was using my .25 M-rod and he was using his .22 FX Gladiator and custom Filarms 9mm PCP.
Anyways, just though I'd share. Watching this video made me want to go back and snipe some squirrels real soon lol.
