i compress/lighten the valve spring rather than buy a stronger hammer spring .... and thats only necessary if it's holding air after the shot . i couldn't tell any difference in front heaviness in pistol form between the backpacker forearm and a standard one at wally world . here's some info on free or very very cheap mods you can do .....http://www.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php/topic,11146.0.htmlhttp://www.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php/topic,11147.0.htmlhttp://www.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php/topic,11149.0.htmlhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/n3ro6yphs4ql2l4/orhYCuIPBw/Crosman%202289%20mods.pdfhttp://www.mp661k.com/sitedocs/13xx_HotRod.pdf
I just realized that I dissasembled with one pump of air in it, is that bad? I didn't take anything else out besides the piston and pump arm/linkage.

Does anyone see anything wrong with doing this?Bryan
