Yep. He did you good. Put good 4 screw rings on it, and you got a strong anchor.

i tried a 4 screw dove tail to pica moved with a CP 4-16x40AO on it....even with Loctite in the scope rails...but that is a pretty heavy scope....that when i got told to use the BKL 6 bolt...for a not quite a magnum spring the Titan has quite a bit of jump to it...
i now have a much lighter CP 3-9X32 in the factory twin clamp bolt mounts that are located to the rails which has stayed put for 40-50 shots or 4 - 5 times longer than the 4-16/4 bolt dove tail to pica adapter setup did and seems to be staying put better than the included 4x32 did without Loctite on the dove tails...
my personal jury is still out on the Loctite on dove tails thing but i don't want to clean it off just to find out....i have a working scope with an up right non rotating reticle that looks to be staying put... that fits my goals and i see no reason to fix it until it's broke again...

The Black Knight....a severely recrowned, chamfered, lapped deburred, honed, Krytox lubed and resealed Titan GP NP .22 with brass washers, a GRT-III trigger, a CP 3-9X40 and a BNM LCD soft bedded into a Fury II stock that is stuffed with 1¼ pounds of duct seal making for a 9 pound, solid shooting, 19fpe (with Crosman Destroyers of all things, at 770fps) 30 yard bottle cap assassination machine...
