I've had both the UTG 4X16 and Hawke 3X9 and they are both big and heavy. I sent both back and now I'm getting the Hawke 4X Sport with AO. At 30 - 50 yards I don't need much and sure don't want to carry around all that extra weight and bulk plus the 4X is about half the price! Just something to consider.
Before you buy any mount you should read up on Tim from Mac 1 and my posts on mounts for spring air rifles or gas ram air rifles. When it comes to scopes for these types of air rifles you will often notice how heavy they are. Thus the recoil of these air rifles need a good solid one piece mount to carry the stress of the 20 to 30 ounce scopes that folks use. You wont find many scope under 18 ounces that will hold up to a springer, or gas ram and I am not talking about an R-7 or Gamo Cadet. Most modern break barrels need Air Gun Rated scopes and they are generally heavy scopes. A two piece scope mount will not work well on these air rifles. You will destroy the scope tube as well and your point of impact will constantly change.A one piece scope mount is the ticket with double screw caps. Gene
