I have many calibers. I shoot more .25. The .20 in the springers were my favorite. The reason I barrel so many. The .25 in springers just never made the grade. My first pcp was the Windy City .22. It was as a .25 I thought would do. The .22 ammo is out there and makes a heck of a shooter and plenty of lead even at 100 yards. The WC at 100 is almost a mil hold over and still smacks. Unrelated I get the best bang for the buck.BUT? The .25 cuts the wind at 100 much better in my set ups. The .25 really is made for the pcp to perform truly. The .22 is a fine choice. Correction on the most shot now. 9mm has gotten my 💰 now. LOL Don't let that bug bit you😈
LDPI was comparing the S510 that costs 50 bucks less than the Regal. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-arms-s510-xtra-fac-sidelever-pcp-carbine?m=2280 It is poplar and does not have the wrap around checkering. The walnut stock S510 is more expensive but close enough that I probably should have used it for comparison. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-arms-s510-xtra-fac-sidelever-pcp-air-rifle?m=2498 That one does have the same type of checkering on the fore end.I discussed the exposed outside of the gun that is most likely to get wet and sweat on it. That is all impervious to rust.OK, you get one point. But you can try again.
George unless you plan on shooting past 60 yards the .22 will keep you smiling I have no problem with .22 out to 50+ yards unless you are planning on shooting under 3/4" as a minimum requirement . For plinking and home grown target shooting the .22 will serve you quite well and less expense for the ammo. I know that you are budget conscious so the .22 should keep you smiling on all counts

All I would need for a Disco is a new regulator for the lower pressure. I already have a Shoebox and Ninja tanks. Sure, it would be nice to have a Regal or S510, but I would be selling a custom gun for box stock, albeit exceptional box stock. I could even get a BNM breech for a Disco and have fun with that. I have two already on my 2240/50s. The more I look at the Condor, the more I want to keep it. It's a truly great gun. I know I would not get what I want for it, and I would be losing money in the deal. So I think I am scrapping the idea of getting something else. Thanks for all the advice and an interesting discussion.

What about a qb79 or 78, the qb79 just needs a 80$ ninja air tank and will be a pcp with plenty of shots per fill, and for your needs it will make you happy.
If your considering either a Regal XL or a AA S510 Carbine here are a couple of 16gr strings from both. Even though the air tube is bigger on the AA the Regal really shines on shot count between the two. The AA was shot at approx 80% power so the peak velocity from both guns is fairly close. I really like both guns but I'm going to put a regulator in the AA to get a longer and flatter shot string out of it. I used 3% ES as my shot limits.jk
