Crosman Mark I......it leaks :(

OK, so some of you may remember me posting a couple weeks ago talking about how i got an amazing deal on a Crosman MKI for $50.00. I recieved it and as the pictures showed, It was in nearly brand new condition, with hardly any wear at all. the paint and finish on it is probly 98%. the gun does appear to be in the condition described. looks like it was purchased, used a few times and packed up and put away for 25-30 years. however, when i put a co2 powerlet into it, and pressed the puncture button on the bottom of the grip to pierce the cartridge, it would not push in. I pushed it harder and kinda tapped on it with an empty co2. finally it pushed in, and i could hear the co2 hissing, and feel it leaking out of the push-button cap. I then removed the cap and released the pressure, so i could inspect it to see what the problem was. the o-ring on the inside of the cap was brittle and broke into 3 pieces. so I replaced it with the only o-rings that i had. they were the right size, but not thick enough, so i put 2 of them in there. it still leaked, but not too bad. i fired it a few times and it was very under powered. this is probly due to the leaking seal i would suspect. and when I went to take the cap back off, it was on so tight that i couldn't get it to unscrew. I had to wrap cloth around it and use pliers to turn it off.....and then the o-rings i used were damaged, and one was torn in half and fell off, so i guess those won't work...I'm not sure what to do. I saw a seal kit for 25.00$ on mac1's site that i could buy. or i could just send it to them in exchange for an LD.....not sure if i want to spend 300.00 right now though. how hard are these guns to take apart and fix/seal? cause if i buy a seal kit, i might as well use all the seals and replace them all right? another question i have is: does anyone know where else i can get parts for this gun besides going the "crosman manual/parts list ordering" route? any info or advice would be very appreciated. I can post some pictures in a little bit if anyone wants to see some.
THANK YOU
JOSHUA A.

I would replace all the seals. If one is bad they're all probably bad or soon will be.

Mine leaks from the exact same place, Joshua
I'm relatively certain you can send just the cap to Tim at Mac1 and he'll reseal it for you...
Doesn't hurt to ask.
But I agree with Toolmaker: big picture, if those seals are bad, you probably need to have the whole gun resealed.
