here's what it looks like.

I epoxy and clamped using a vise with absolutely parallel and true jaws and applied enough pressure to compress into the seating. I also slightly rounded over the yoke with 400 grit sand paper for a ez smooth and shear free reinstall (mallet free also used couple hand thumps).just my 2 pennies.....
The bushing on mine needed some persuasion, so I found some aluminum bits to cushion it while tapping with a mallet. After thorough degreasing, the jam felt quite gritty in the bore. Polishing the bore and jam with 600 paper took care of that nicely. Left the bushing a snug fit, not the place to have slop. Careful tapping into place to give equal spacing on each side of course.
It made for a very tight fit, that may have scarred the washers going in. If I pull it off again, I may try some of your suggestions. Thanks.
P.S. I did post a joke about this with no respond to, it was. " If Crosman would move the weaver rail onto the barrel shroud it would solve a lot of it's accuracy issues with the benji break barrels."

I plan to do pretty much the same thing with a Venom Dusk, but how on earth do you get the link pin out? I have tried using a punch and hammer, but it may as well be welded in there. Also how do I get the bushing out? I removed the break bolt, but the barrel won't budge. I was hoping to at least seperate the barrel from the compression tube and order a new link pin and lever assembly. If I can get that far I am in good shape. Then I will also get the live jam parts too. Any suggestions?

Does not need to, just deal with the thing flopping around. With the bolt out, break the barrel down as if loading, and gently tap with soft faced mallet to pop it out the bottom of the forks. Once out, you will see how the lug at the rear of the lever can be rotated to disengage from the bear trap and it is free. That is how I remember it all, several month gone now. If I had a senior moment, someone please correct me.
