Aren't these washers pretty flat? The ones I am thinking about are almost cone shaped.Would the Belleville Spring Lock washers work too?Probably. They do appear to be the same type as the OEM that stayed attached to my buggered screw. The nordlock or "wedge" one seems to be working fine. From 0 experience thru about a thousand pellets I am learning. I'm 10 months into this river property, and a developing friendship with a neighbor is becoming a great asset. He is an experienced rifle hunter, fisherman, general great local outdoorsman and owns a .177 older gun with a droop that can't be settled down. He's loaned me a Crosman 3-9 X 40 AO scope, I didn't bother to even look at the packaged Optima on this gun. Well, except for the mounts, because I didn't have any and his scope was bare.I moved the scope stop plate to its rearmost position, using the last single screw with blue loctite to hold the plate. The eye relief is good, the optics are so much easier, especially if I decide to switch from let's say the 20 yard target to 50, it takes but a moment to clearly see the next target.I want this scope....Any ideas on the value, to make an offer? Alternatives in the same range as your ideas?Alas, my groupings are only as good as my aim. I've noticed that after traipsing down the range to check my shots my aim suffers as I try and control my breathing for the next rounds. I keep trying to set a target up at 30 yards, place 9-10 3/4" dots around the center, and show how tight the groups are. Then I pull one, or misjudge the trigger, and my plans go awry. Still, so far I think that the 1.5 inch stray shots off a 3/4" dot are more my fault than the gun. When my movements are minimal, the trigger pull is steady and controlled, I am hitting the bullseye, nicking the edges of the dot with the next three shots. I have much to learn.the gun is still tight, mounts are holding firm. With Hatsan, they appreciated a couple of photos sent to show the blemish. Methuselah, you may be right, simple may be better. With the pics I sent, I imagine that eventually they can pinpoint the exact manufacturing process that caused the shiny image transfer. As others have mentioned, this should help continually improve the quality of their products. From the videos I've seen, a heckuva lot goes on in only 50,000 plus square feet of manufacturing at their plant!!With the changing of the new stock, I will be looking to sensibly adjust the trigger to both improve its performance whilst preserving the warranty. As I understand, the word "modify" translates to voided warranty. I hope you guys will offer needed advice once I open it up and have a look see.
