I got to thinking about the high temperatures most of the country is getting right now and CO2 guns. First thought was the guns should be shooting at their maximum preassures outside. Then my second thought was the owners need to be very careful about keeping CO2 guns in their vehicles. I would guess that the temperatures inside a closed vehicle could get to a point that it could cause the safety valves to pop, if gun is equiped with one. If no safety valve I imagine it could cause some problems. Again this is just some rambling thoughts.

CO2 pressures skyrocket in hot temperatures.... although it is "only" 850 psi at 70*F, that increases to 1200 psi at 90*F, and to 1900 psi at 120*F.... The QBs start to enter partial "valve lock" at 90*F, and after that the velocity actually decreases.... and a 22Xx with a stock hammer spring is similar.... There are two very important things to consider for safety....
1. NEVER leave a CO2 gun inside a hot car or baking in the direct sunlight on a hot day....
2. NEVER overfill any CO2 tank (or bulk filled gun), they MUST be filled by weight....

It's been a pain around here, for sure. Just plain uncomfortable. Last try for me was 2 weekends ago, but it wasn't enjoyable, and had a couple lock ups... The early morning is OK, but not too early, as our fellow lake folk like their sleep the morning after.
