C-rat that almost waited me out

Well guys, the ding-donger announced a visitor at 11:00pm last night, but unfortunately the weather was nasty and family was over so I didn't find out what it was. So tonight I waited up...and waited up...and waited some more. Nothing by 2:00am so I finally climbed in bed. Suddenly at 2:15 it went off and I sprung up to go have a look. When I arrived, nothing was there. So I decided to take my usual position and just wait a bit. I wouldn't have to wait long; within two minutes a C-rat walked out of the shadows to have a taste of the chicken scraps.
I lined up for the shot and waited until his head was down and put the POA right between the eyes and ears, then gently squeezed the trigger to send the pellet on its way 45 yards downrange. I heard a solid impact and through the scope watched him tumble over. The nature of the tumble is one I've grown familiar with as indicative of good shot placement. But nothing is 100% so I quickly chambered another in case a followup was necessary. I clicked on the rifle's green light to illuminate the area and the death dance was well on its way. So I turned around and headed into the house to grab the camera, then gloved up and headed down to check it out. Sure enough, the pellet impacted right square in the center of top of the head, right between the eyes and ears.
The deed was done with the B51 from Mike Melick with superb accuracy as always. And as usual for my hunts, the pellet was a JSB 18.1gr fired from 45 yards.
Thanks for reading guys!

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the pat on the back almost as much as the hunt
. And yeah, this guy just about slipped by, if not for my insomnia. The B51 just never ceases to amaze me with how it puts down the critters. I know it's not up the standard of the rifles some of you guys have but I will just say it has far exceeded my expectations.

Thanks, Jim!
Tater, that's right. It's the .22 model. It shoots the JSB 18.1's like little heat-seeking missles. Or maybe head-seeking is more appropriate

good shootin Jason, It isn't always the quality of the gun as much as it is the person behind the trigger. I have a MM tuned gun also and it is a great shooter also. Keep after em.......
