my restocked titan (see avatar pic) is quite a mover and shaker...
Any recommendations for scope/mount Thanks!
When I first got mine it seemed to do pretty good but I noticed the scope mounts were slowly eaking backwards as I shot. After a while it had moved back a full half inch in the dovetail but hadn't lost as much accuracy as I would have guessed.I'd only firmly mounted the scope at first so I pulled it off and carefully replaced it using Locktite and it's doing well for now, though I haven't been shooting it as much as my Hatsan. I wish I had been able to lap the scope rings but I plan on changing them anyway. I suspect the scope mounts are moving. Might try going to a 1-piece mount and using Locktite. I'd do all the stock screws as well. Also, check the play in the nylon washers at the break hinge on the barrel for any wear. I've read that this may be a weak point.
I went through and tightened and put loctite on all the screws holding the stock to the barrel/receiver. Tried a combo of the three Scopes and two pellets I have. Got everything to stay horizontally set. Vertically, that's a different story. I've been shooting 5 shot groups. The first one is always bullseye but by the fifth shot it's 4" low. Tried it over and over again. Same result every time. I'm really questioning the seals at this point. Especially because every now and then I get one that sounds like it hits the cardboard at about half speed and doesn't hit with the same thwack! That the rest do.
As I was surfing this forum to day I stumbled across somebody saying that a brass cleaning brush will damage the barrel. If that's true.... well that could be my problem. I have used my brass .22 cal cleaning brush to clean the barrel. It didn't even cross my mind that that could be a problem. I figured it's a metal barrel and brass brushes are whats used to clean real guns, that's why I have a full set of them. Any truth to this?I sent Crosman an email just to see what they had to say, theyre response was to send it back to them. That is not what I want to do. I would much rather figure it out my self. I work on small engines for a living and for what ever reason I do not like sending things back to have them worked on, goes against my morals I like fixing things my self, not having somebody else do something I can do. So hopefully with the help of everybody here we can get tjis figured out.
