Took the family over to the antique tractor show in Portland In. today and stopped at a flea market and found a grubby looking Crosman .22 model 1, receiver and stock were loose, pump arm wouldn't stay up but for $8, figured it would give me something to tinker with, took me about an hour to get all the goo off and tightened up, and believe it or not it shoots pretty darn good, even has the williams sights, took out a 2" leaf floating on the water at 30 yards on the first shot, soooo, figure I'll dig a little deeper into it as it's probably as dirty on the inside as it was on the outside, but it's been awhile since I've had a pumper apart, so if anyone has any knowledge or tips, I'd sure like to hear it, I'll get a pic tomorrow, hang in there......

Very nice score for you !
"Adult type pellet gun with wood and metal"
I was given one last year by an uncle,
he took it apart many years ago.
I managed to get it back together while waiting for the parts I'd ordered for it.
(Ended up just shaking it while pressing together the receiver half's and it just finally popped closed?)
{new seals and pump cup and new valve just because,[much smaller than the 13XX valve}}
Wow, they do shoot very well. A bit tricky to load, but the reason I got some .22 round balls
and they have been working very good in a couple of other .22 I have!
But do get much harder to work the pump after about five pumps.
But, it only lasted for about a dozen shots, (with it's old parts)
Just long enough to take back and show him that he did pick the right person to give it to.
He shot it,(hit low on the target bottle0, his Grandson shot it, (he hit high on the same target)
then I shot it and hit dead center on the bottle.
Next pump up didn't pump up only hissing.
I'd managed to mess up on the nut that hold's the butt stock on and would have had to take it apart again anyways.
Well the NEW parts got in and I took it apart again.
But I had a finger problem and still haven't gotten it back together yet.
The Crosman site didn't list it as what it is,
"Model 1"
but as number 2290, 2280 or something like that.
I'd look it up and tell you but that was a couple of computers back and I'm behind on hooking up old hard drives and getting the info off them. So sorry.
Mine is the first version with tapered barrel, (1981-82)
other version has full size full length barrel tube,(1983-1985)
As I recall

I like my 2100/13xx hybrid but the mod ones and 2200s I would leave stock. nice score

The Model 1 is the 2280 in the EVP's. The majority of the internal parts are the same as the 2100. The best way to rebuild the valve is use the guts of a 2100 aluminum valve in the brass M-1 valve. All the mods for the 766/2100 series work just fine on the M-1/2200.

I just picked one up on ebay uk sort of. Seller was selling the pump arm and butt stock so I contacted him and he had the whole rifle. He said if I won I could have whole rifle for $70 that's cheap in uk he had broken the cocking handle. I have a few of them in my bits boxes so getting this up and shooting will be easy. Mine has the Williams sight to the stock and pump handle have a few dings and scrapes I'm not sure if I should redo the woodwork though. The receiver is strange one side is great the other is bubbled and the paint is peeling. Luckily I bought a box of Crosman bits and in it was a full model 1 receiver that is in good condition so swapped that for the bubbled one. I do have another model 1 but I think this a better rifle.

Nice find and welcome to the addiction.
I think you have a keeper because I don't see many of those around.
