Can anyone tell me the main difference between the two? As far as I can tell, the only difference is power. I wonder if one is more accurate then the other? If anyone has experience with these, I would love to hear about it. I am thinking .25 cal.
-
Two totally different guns. One weights about 2 pounds more then the other.
-
The BT65 has a bigger air tube, and valve, and is longer and heavier.... as well as more powerful.... They share a similar design, but I would guess share few parts.... Kind of like comparing a Disco and an MRod....

There was a member article on the at44pa at:

Thanks for the input guys. I am still not sure if the extra $$ is justified.

There was a refurb hamerli-pneuma .22 at A/D for $190. It looks like a thumbhole at44. I don't know how good it is though.
-
I am waiting for a refurb .177 to go up. I missed out last time.
-
got a lil at44(http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/vv142/ralphtonka/IMG-20120217-00285.jpg)

BT65 has bigger heavy parts inside as below (from Turkey forum);

Note: BT65 is heavy weight 4.3kg and the inside parts are made one size heavy side. One of the most powerful airuguns.

I have to say that the BT 65 is one powerfull PCP. I am testing a .177 now and I dont have pellets heavy enough to shoot out of it...:)
-
That doesn't surprise me.... I think the BT65 is best suited to .25 cal, certainly not less than .22 cal with heavy pellets....

The Hatsan in .25 Caliber is a extremely powerful PCP boasting power levels of 50 ft-lb +Plus
-
Those numbers are from the Hatsan website.... It should be noted that while the FPE numbers are reasonably accurate, and the shot count might be achieved if you shoot the gun until the velocity is dismally slow.... you should not expect the performance to combine the two numbers.... You would be lucky to get half the number of shots claimed at the FPE levels specified.... Just check out Rick's review on AirGunWeb to get an idea of what the shot string looks like....
I had an AT44 in .22 cal, and it got about 30 shots within a 7% velocity range at about 30 FPE.... Excellent performance, but the number of USABLE shots was nowhere near the 70 shots claimed....

I was just about to say the same thing, LOL :) :)
A .25 shooting over 50 FPE will get probably 20 good shots, most likely less :)

Even, bullpup needs larger stock to hold BT65 (from Canada forum).

The cocking is kind a hard to pull, Barrett M82 style stock might be good for this model.

Not a fan of that bullpup. Looks like a cartoon gun.

As mentioned the 65 is more or less an upsized version of the 44 series. One difference, there are two plastic stock versions of the At44 .25, I have the PA (Pump Action) the other is a side lever. The 65 uses a side bolt by the way.
The pump action works well however it takes a deliberate movement as its cocking, rotating the clip and sliding the pellet in the bore. Its not something I can do reliably still on the shoulder at this time, pehaps it will smooth out with use.

The BT65 is considerably a large rifle diameter of the reservoir is bigger as well as the action barrel length weight etc different safety located in the left side of the receiver not like the At44 that is in the rear of the receiver, stocks are bigger too, basically is a new rifle.
