Heaviest pellets safe to use in .22 Gamo Whisper springer?

What's the heaviest pellets that would be safe to use in a tuned Gamo Whisper springer in .22 caliber? My Whisper was tuned a few years ago and the spring was replaced with an aftermarket spring. The heaviest pellets I currently shoot out of it are 16 grain Polymags. I'm interested in experimenting with the heaviest pellets I can use that won't damage the rifle.

I would not go heavier than the 16 grain polymags you're using. Even though the spring has been replaced with an aftermarket one, it's still a good idea to stay around 14-15 grains for your Gamo. Even aftermarket springs can be fatigued by too light or too heavy of pellets.

I tend to agree with HNT5.
Many others will disagree until they have replaced many springs.
Best bet.... stock up on springs and seals.
This way when they say that (their) gun has shot several thousand rounds of the heaviest pellets that can be had, you will be prepared for spring failure and seal being cooked.
Just my opinion.

I wouldn't go above 15g remember it's still a midpowered springer and 16g's is a lot to push for even a aftermarket spring. Ed
